I tried to name my female Aerlo after Deannablanco, but it keeps naming some Bliz I have instead, what's going on?

The Bliz could be the first one in your party. I had the same problem once, when I was trying to rename my Tasma. The name I had picked was already taken, and it went back to the list of creatures. Unbeknownst to me, it automatically picked my Aerlo, who was the first egg on the list, to be the recipient of the name that was originally intended for my Tasma.
