Lorin's father, the Mayor had begun to speak. He rambled off about why everyone was here, about the Treaty of Treason. But all the while, there's a proud look on his face. A look of contempt.
Gosh, I just want him to shut up. Punch my father for his job, his loyalty to the Captiol. I seethe in rage, at my father, the Mayor, and at HIM, Gold.
As Lorin simmers in rage, Holly Diamond, the District 1 Escort, takes the stage. She walks up to the large class bowl, contempt on her face as well. And just as Lorin reaches exploding point as Gold continues to taunt her, Holly propells her hand into the large glass bowl containing thousands among thousands of slips of tiny papers. And a name rings out high above the crowd.
"LORIN RELATTY!"
I almost immediately freeze. Was my mind playing a trick? Had Gold impersonated richy rich Holly's voice? But then my eyes meet hundreds of other's stares. Then they meet Holly's.
"Well honey, darling, come on up here! Oh my, the shock about being chosen for such and honor has rendered her little heart speechless! Oh, help her up now, sweetums, all y'all help her forward."
Suddenly, Lorin was being pushed up through a sea of people.
Shoves, shoves are all I feel. Some smart like Hell. But what really hurtinmost, is the look of cold joy on my father, the Mayor,'s face.
