Love Snakes? Sign this Petition then, please!

If you are active in the herp community, you may know that there was a recent law created banning three large species of constrictors.

It was created based more on pressure rather than actual fact and research regarding the animals and their 'threat'.

Currently; there are over 3,000 signatures, however we need 25,000!
If you care about snakes, or any animal for that matter, I urge you to sign the petition.
First the banning of a few animals starts, then all animals. Does that seem fair at all?

You will need to create an account on the site, however it is simple and easy to do. You need to be 13 or older, however, to create an account.

I LOVE reptiles!!! Of course ill sign!
Right now, I have 3 Lovely Turtles,
an amazingly tame iguana who've Ive had for years,
2 Epic Leopard Geckos,
and an Albino Checkered Garter Snake,
and of course, my WONDERFUL 2 dogs, Nelly and Harley😊

Yeah...I LUV animals!😊

I'm thinking about getting some kind of turtle or tortoise.
And I'm always wanting more snakes. lol

Yeah😊 The 8th graders are scared of my house, but my friends love all my pets.

Awe that's cute and funny.
My house is like a zoo.
(bird, cat, dog, snakes, lizards, rabbit...more to come xD)

I'm thinking I might open a zoo one day, 😋

Is it really necessary to have a constrictor for a "pet"? Biased, as I've never had a snake, but how caring could it be?

Is it really necessary to have any animal as a "pet"? Our domesticated dogs are more deadly than any species of snakes. Dogs attack us more often than snakes do.

@Shelby I don't think any animal should be considered a "pet", if an animal obviously shouldn't be domesticated, it shouldnt be^^" but I think snake specialists and people very familiar with caring for large snakes should be allowed😊

Good point.
However, people can't help themselves, so they started owning and domesticating animals a long time ago.
Obviously some animals will never be truly "domestic" more of tolerant of us.
Responsible people should be allowed to 'own' or 'care for' animals if they know what they are doing.

Me too, I can see how it's going to play out in the future.
As I said, they will ban one animal, then move on to another, then more, then what? All animals?
That's why we have to tell them that it isn't okay to do this.

i luv alll animals lets see can i name all the animalls i have lets see ive had a beatiful wolf named snow but she was taken by the humaine center they said she was dangerous yeah right they say you cant take the wolf out of the wild and that if they see you have dominance theyre going to attack the alpha well thats with all animals like dogs that how they see it they see it going down from a chain the person who has the dominance to the least but snow was a very good girl and she wouldnt even hurt a fly and ive also hd snakes ive had a wonderfull bull python called boogie he was really large i luved to put him on my neck but i didnt know why everyone was afraid of him oh and ive also had a king snake theyre very smalland aggressive pink and yellow snakes but im sure they can come in many colors and ivee also had two pet igunas (sp) and i had a snapping turtle he was just marvelous especially when he bit your figer he was so cute ive also had a geeko two regular turtles a tortise that i ffound laying on the ground with a fork stuck in his back shell half way off bloodied and everything it was an gruesome sight and whoever did that to that poor defenless baby is going to get what is coming to them

More people get hurt by dogs because there are tons more dogs. Take the percentages of dog attacks and snake attacks to see how dangerous they really are.

ive also had sharks and sting rays and big birds to small birds hedge hogs ferrets chinchillas and anything you can name ive also had a wolf named snow we named her snow because she blended in with the snow so well 😊 already signed the pettitionn
