How to send EC to other people?

I heard you can do it through the Trade Center?
But I don't want to trade any of my creatures..
I just want to send pure EC to someone else without getting anything in exchange.

As far as I know, you have to do it through the trade centre. Grab any old egg from the cave, one you don't particularly like, send it with the EC and get a similiar egg back from that user. Then you can give it to the adoption centre, let it die or, and I would do this, keep it for a rainy day, just in case you need to trade for EC again.
