Reno watched as many of his friends went up and were auctioned off. He was suddenly nervous. He wasn't exactly strong, and he didn't really look great. Being bought for very little money was a huge disgrace.

Kennedy was sitting at the back of the classroom listening to the teacher drone on and on about how slaves should behave and bringing Reno up to demonstrate. As usuall, instead of taking notes, he was plotting out ways to escape. Not taking notes always earned him a few cracks with the whip but it was worth it. He wrote: RUN AWAY? and crossed it out. He sighed. He had to come up with something before the slave auction. He was on the list! He resumed plotting.

Kennedy ended up at the auction. He was still holding his notebook and was doodling this time. He wished he had some gum. Or an I-Pod. But those things were reserved for the masters.

Charlotte displayed herself on the block with the other for-sale slaves. This was one time where even SLIGHTLY disobeying would get her a huge whipping.

Silic shivered. Who will she be auctioned to? For what reason had she become a slave? Why? All those questions echoed in her mind, a tear falling to the ground.

Reno sighed. At least he'd been worth some money. All of a sudden, he heard a cry from the audience. "2000!" Reno blinked once, twice. Him? "Going once, going twice, Sold!" Reno shuddered. Sold. What a horrible word.
