All of the rping topics with tips that I've seen focus on how you rp, not how you act when you rp. So I thought that I'd make a topic that lays out basic etiquette when you are rping.

Etiquette
-Always respect other rpers, and treat them how you would want to be treated
-If you have a problem with how someone is rping, take it to a private conversation, and respectfully tell them what is bothering you about their rping
-Read through posts that you have missed, and don't ask repeatedly to be caught up
-If you receive a comment about your rping, respect what the other person is saying and try to take their advice
-DO NOT tell them that "it's the way you rp" or that "it doesn't really matter". This will only make them more angry with you, and increase your chance of being kicked.
-If you are kicked from a rp, apologize and take your leave quietly. If you whine and cry, you will only anger and disturb the rpers even more.
-Check your grammar and spelling before posting, and if you make a mistake, take the time to correct it. The other rpers will appreciate it.
-Don't beg repeatedly for someone's chara to do something. It's their chara, and they control them

I have more to say LOL

Basic Rping Knowledge
-FOLLOW THE RULES!
-NO GOD-MODDING. It is extremely frustrating when a character is is the best at everything.
-NO POWER-PLAYING. It is extremely frustrating when a character is all powerful.
-Do not control other rper's charas without their consent
-Do not KILL other rper's charas without their consent
-Contribute often, and to the plot.
-Tell other rpers if you will be gone for a substantial amount of time.
-Read other posts and take them into account before posting.
-Do not ignore posts
-Make sure that your charas are very fleshed out
-If you have multiple charas, make sure that each has a purpose and will contribute something to the storyline.
-If you have multiple charas, avoid them having the exact same looks or personality unless it will contribute something to the plot.
-NO GOD-MODDING. This is so important that it has to be mentioned twice.

If you have something to add, feel free to drop a comment below.
