So recently I've decided that I want to try my hand at submitting to literary journals. I'm ready for the bucket loads of rejection letters, the long waits, etc. xD

The problem is, though, I'm getting a lot of mixed messages on sending in work that is already posted elsewhere online. You see, my deviantart...I've been pretty devouted to it over the past several years. I've built up a following and a lot of my work can be found there. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if this is a good if you plan on getting into literary journals.
I could put all my work in storage on DA, but I've become so attached to the place. I have great watchers. At the same time, however, literary journals seem they would be more beneficial in the long run, even though I don't even plan on making a living of writing.

So, anyone have any experience with this?
I'd appreciate any input. I just don't have the heart to abandon my DA. I've won two contests there and my premium membership I won from one still has some time on it, I've received DDs, and all that stuff.
