Pings work only half the time

I am getting pings to approximately half the topics when I am in the first five users being pinged. They just so happen to be topics I wander to by chance. No telling how many topics I get pinged to without getting the ping.

My name is spelled correctly, I just don't get the ping. They don't show up in the notifications.

Does this happen to anyone else?

Perhaps the pings were edited in? If they were, you wouldn't get the ping.

That's the same with me, only it's conversations and they don't work THE WHOLE TIME.
