I'm trying to color some hair, but I can not figure out how to shade black hair.

I'm about the throw my tablet across the room DX

There should be a paint bucket tool. You don't SHADE it. Use dodge. Make the hair SHINE AND SPARKLE-- Oh dear lord, no.

My mind:

Use white on a very low opacity, make the size medium-big, and make one big line above where the ears should be. You can use a really low opacity of really dark blue, make it tiny, and use that to shade down the hair. 😊

I know how to shade

I just don't know how to shade black hair darker, since it's already black and there is no darker color.

You don't.

Just make the other parts lighter and lighter on. It'll look like it was shaded, but it was not.
