Tessa pushed her dark hair out of her face. she was nervous and jittery as she drove the busted up pick up truck down the dusty road in the desert sun.
Please dont let me have a flashback here. She thought.
Zombie blood was smeared on her cargo shorts and arms...she had just escaped the house where her foster parents were now being feasted by zombie.
I have to find the others. She thought.

SMASH. Katia instinctively rolled out of her bed. And regretted it. She hit the floor with a thud. She could hear moaning. Zombies! She needed to get out! She clambered to her feet and clutched her book against her chest.

Steve flicked the bookshelf back into place, and started collecting the books off the disarrayed pile on the floor. He heard groaning, squishing, and stomps coming from the door. "Oh *beep-" Steve scrambled to the nearest window, denting a couple of hardback books. Pushing the window open, he looked out and saw the ground- 30 feet down! "Oh geez, really!?! Now, with zombies!?" A spinning headache took him as he gulped. Steve squeezed his eyes shut and made a leap for the nearest house.

Katia took a deep breath...... And jumped on to the tree facing her window. She scuttled down to the lowest branch, hung off of it, and let go. As her feet touched the ground she tumbled over, to soften the impact. She had to get out of here. Fast. Her head was in convulsions.

Tessa was in the town now,but the zombies were too stupid to notice her old pick up while banging on all the windows and doors in their creepy way.
A shot of movement caught her eye.
A girl was running across the road.....right in front of her tru---
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEe.
Tessa slammed the brakes before hitting her.

Katia stood in front of the truck. Her head was spinning, her vision was fuzzy. She hadn't seen the truck. She looked up to see if the driver was a zombie. Noticing it wasn't, she desperately tapped the door. 'help! Please help!' she cried. She could barely see anything. The darkness was closing in.

Tessa barely knew how to drive,only a bit from doing work around her foster parents farm,but she decided to floor it and run over the disgusting zombies,just as one of them decided to look at her with half decayed eyes through the window. blech.

Thats when she noticed the boy.

Steve panted, leaning on a tree. He saw the zombie-covered truck go by, and got his skateboard out. Pushing himself off, he soon caught up with the truck and grasped hold of the trunk's handle thingy.
