I have no idea what it is.

My *guess* is that it's k-pop or something. Which is, by the way, overrated.

Oh.
Well.

I don't even know.

I'll just sit here like a derp and go like this 8D and not know what it is and remain out of the loop.

A Vocaloid a Projection of an Anime character that is animated to look as if it were real.... They even sings and dance like people there are many of them and there are also many concerts in Japan featuring just Vocaloids... If you go to google and look them up there is SO much stuff about them.....

0.o Interesting.

All I know about K pop is that it features Korean people. >>

And that there's some person named Tiffany. I know this because my friend printed a picture of her out and she's sketching her for art class. ._.

@mightyeglantine

Actually, that's just for live concerts.

Vocaloid in general are computer generated singing voices, which take form as a 2D or 3D anime person. They are a computer disk which you can buy and use. It is a singing program which you can change their pitch, volume, lyrics, and tone. [Hence appends] They are only sold in Japan, unless shipped out. Most of their loids are Japanese, but some, like Luka and Sonika can sing in English, though other people call it 'Engrish'. Even though they sing English better than other loids, they still have lisps and stutter.

NOW,

Vocaloids, Utauloids, Talkloids, and all those other loids.

Vocaloids are REAL, OFFICIAL COMPUTER PROGRAMS.

Utauloids are FAN-MADE VOCALOIDS BY LOWERING OR MAKING THEIR PITCH HIGHER. Most of them are accepted and made into REAL OFFICIAL PROGRAMS, but they are still called Utauloids, to give fans credit for making them.

Others, if I even tell you, you'll be lost. Like, FOREVER.

Pinged the first five people to say they don't know what it is.

Vocaloid is a group of singing synthesizers that sing Japanese songs. They have personalities, likes, dislikes, etc., even as robots/holograms/machines. They have the voices based off of real people but they are changed to create whole new voices created by the computer. You can buy their voices to make songs out of.

There are many, many Vocaloids and sub-branches of Utauloids, but the main Vocaloid is probably Hatsune Miku. Other popular Vocaloids include. . .
-Rin and Len Kagamine
-Mikuo Hatsune
-Kaito and Akaito
-Piko Utatane

You can YouTube them to see what their voices sound like.

Vocaloids are "pop stars" that are cartoons, or in concert, holograms. Instead of an actual person singing, vocaloid voices are computer noises all put into a song. It's pretty cool. 😊 Some vocaloids sound really bad and not like real singing (I think Teto sounds pretty awful) and some sound realistic, like Muki Hatsune and Rin Kagamine. I just got into this Vocaloid thing and I think it's really weird but kind of cool. The concerts are awesome, though, it's literally a hologram. 😱

Here's a Miku concert:

Hope this helped 😊

anime fad. It's just about a group that sing songs(in computerized way)

I would love to tell you more but I'm not a fan of vocaloid.

Deleted • 3 March 2012 at 10:56 AM

@crescentfeather @whitefall

It is not Chinese, it's Japanese 😉

@stellie

Please keep harsh opinions like that to yourself, it is the same as any other famous pop star as today.

Deleted • 3 March 2012 at 5:12 PM

How is it pointless? And overrated?
The Troop was made for Vocaloid fans, to discuss Vocaloid matters and roleplay..

There are many roleplaying groups on this site, like the Kingdom Hearts group and the Hunger Games group and the Death Note roleplaying group.

The Troop DOES have a point. And your comment was a bit ..rude? You could also keep in mind that you're not the only one with opinions.

Oh and not everyone's in it, it's only for Vocaloid fans, of course. o-e
So I don't see why you think the Troop is overrated.
