Hunger Games movie! It feels weird. Usually I'm not part of these "fandoms", lol. But at least THG fandom seems tame compared with others.😋

@metaphorI'm excited, I'm re-reading it now and I can't put it down. The writing isn't the best, but the plot is amazing.

@zafeyryI agree. It's not exactly "art" as far as literature goes. But it's fast-paced, gets straight to the point, and t he characters are easy to connect with. It's a nice read. I'm on Mockingjay.

@metaphor Is it released world-wide on that date? ._. (Because no one's talking about it here ><)

I really can't wait for it!I introduced my best friend to the Hunger Games books about a week ago and she's completely hooked. I'm so proud. :')Really looking forward to the movie! 😊

MEEEI want go to the mid night viewing DXI might ask to go, for my birthday, since my birthday is April Third.I loved the books, I have yet to finish the last book though. I'm like, 50th on the library's list XDI'm kind of disappointed in Peeta's character. The boy //is// cute, but I pictured like... Sam from glee, or something around that region of looks. The guy looks like he has greenish hair. He does not have the seam look DXDude, I hope their isn't any team-Peeta/Gale fan girls there, who don't know jack about the book. I may end up punching someone XD

I just recently read the books for the first time. As I'm far beyond the target age group, I found the writing to be simple to the point of eye-rolls at times, and the end of Mockingjay left me wanting, but I enjoyed it overall. It kept me hooked and I wanted to keep reading them, no matter what else I was supposed to be doing, which is a huge compliment to the series.Having heard the casting before reading, I was able to compare my imagination to the actors chosen as I went along. The Peeta and Cinna characters didn't quite match my imagination...I imagined Peeta to be chunkier (by no means fat), but a bit fuller. Cinna was a bit more...subtle than Lenny Kravitz, haha.In general, I'm very excited to see the first movie 😊

@bash_extrasMockingjay kind of disappointed me, I will admit. Just finished today. It was an engrossing read, but some of Katniss's actions and her motives and her moping...just really grated on my nerves for some reason. I still don't really understand why she did what she did at the end and how they wrote it off as nothing, and she just lives happily ever after. I kind of understand why she did it...but it still just seems kind of forced. That said, Mockingjay might have had some of the better writing of all three books, toward the end at least. Still, exciting to see what they do with the first book.

@metaphorYes, I completely agree. In general, I just kind of saw the last quarter or so of Mockingjay as the writer obligatory tying up loose ends...there didn't seem to be much reason behind some of the things happening, just that it seemed easier to do it that way than write something else. I don't know. The very end was a bit like Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows for me, in that I would have been much happier without the very last part. Not that I didn't like what it said/where it went, it just seemed forced and weird, though. Detached, almost.Mockingjay definitely got me probably the most emotionally involved and drawn in more than the other two.

I can't wait! ^^ Two days ago I got up at four to go to a "meet the stars" Hunger Games convention. We had to wait in line for about three hours, and when we got in we had to wait for over eight hours. There were a ton of giveaways, and we got to see some of the main actors in the movie. The first hundred people did get to meet them, but there were over a thousand people in line when we arrived. 😋
pebblestar-nightclan • 5 March 2012 at 6:41 PM
@metaphorOh, trust me.This fandom is NOT tame. XD

@pebblestar-nightclanThen I'm keeping a good job at keeping myself sheltered from the nuts. xD
pebblestar-nightclan • 5 March 2012 at 8:57 PM
@metaphor Yeah, probably. XD Everybody's freaking out about it at my school. O.O
metaphor • 5 March 2012 at 9:42 PM
@pebblestar-nightclanI don't about any Hunger Games fans at my school. I'm so out of touch, though, I'm not really sure what people are here are interested in anymore. xD
hayz • 5 March 2012 at 9:43 PM
@metaphorWhat channel is it airing on? //slappedSorry. I just can't seem to go with the flow! D:

Nobody in my school even knows about the book. This one girl I was talking to in Social Studies is reading it and we're at the same part, but aside from her nobody else even knows about the book. Curse you suburbs of Connecticut -___- If there was no Jersey shore, my school would literally explode.
