There are three stats on all pets (views, clicks and feeds - counting unique views of the image, unique visits to their page and unique feeds respectively, on a daily basis.
Any stat can help level a pet, but each species requires a certain amount of one stat to evolve (you can visit the species info page on the creature's page).
Until level 2000, your pets can die if their happiness gets too low, so be sure to feed them regularly, as views or clicks do nothing to increase its happiness.
You also earn EC when you feed your or other people's creatures, and only when feeding.

I'm still new myself, so I can't give you the fine prints, but that's the rough idea, hope it helps. 😉

Well, in case you didn't know what to do here, you can visit the Mysterious Asteroid for a chance to find a rare creature. You can go to the travel agency to buy travels and travel your pets or trade travels. You can go to the trade center to trade creatures and EC. (You get EC from feeding creatures.) You can get CC (CaveCash) by buying them with real money and using the CC to get items and monthly creatures. 10 times a day, you can search in the cave to find creatures. Tim's Food Shoppe requires EC but keeps your pets at 100 health.
