Can you explain immortals to me?

Have noticed while clicking others coves that many have "immortals". Can anyone define that for me? Tell what exactly qualifies any evolution as immortal. Thanks!

level 2000.
no evolution.
Some eggs are immortal, actually. (not normally though)
then they can't die of hunger

Level 2000+ are immortal, and are not able to die, but they can get erased from your account if you want to delete the account without trading away the creatures.
