RANT #1: Popularity Versus the Average

Feel free to ignore this, this is just something I need to vent about.

When you're popular it doesn't matter WHAT you do, you can do or say anything, and by anything, I do mean anything, words varying from stupidity and being a complete prick.
Not only are you able to say whatever you want you are able to do whatever you want, such as drinking, smoking, etc. and be considered "cool".

When you're average or below average, you have a limit to what you say, saying something stupid or acting like a complete jack ass will have you thrown in a pile of trash, or worse. You are uncool and someone who should "get a life" if you drink, smoke, etc. and even if you DON'T smoke, you are lame.

What I'm trying to say is, you are lame, stupid, or uncool for doing or saying something if you are in the average category, you are cool, amazing, funny, cute for doing or saying the EXACT thing the average person said or did before.

It doesn't make since, in fact it's something that happens in my school everyday.

EXAMPLE:

My friend was in Health class and they were allowed to listen to their iPods, she was searching for her bag and couldn't find her iPod, so she mumbled to herself, "Where is it? Did someone steal it?", this kid heard her and said, "Are you talking to yourself? Could you NOT do that? It's scary."

The next Health class my friend had there was this girl who is "popular" who couldn't find her phone, so she mumbled to herself, "Where the hell is it? Did someone steal it?", that same kid as before said, "Awh, are you talking to yourself? That's so cute!"

You should NEVER be called "cool" for smoking, drinking, etc. it's not, it's disgusting and unhealthy, but you should never tell someone to "Get a life" either, there's reasons why people smoke or drink, you may know their name, but you don't know their story.

"When someone I hate says something I find funny, cool, etc. I find it stupid because it's coming from them, when It's someone I like, I am free to laugh or say whatever I really feel because it's coming from someone I'm okay with"

Should that really matter who these words come out of?
Even I laugh at things people I hate say or do.

I see it a lot. It bothers me.

If I were to say, "Oh jeez! I almost slipped on that noodle!", they would say, "Just goes to show how stupid you really are!" - words from people I've never met in my life or have spoken to, and lets take the most GORGEOUS girl who is popular and purposely acts stupid all the time because it's "cute" says the same thing I did, they'd laugh and say, "Are you okay!? They should REALLY clean the floors around here!"

I see it all the time too. V.V

Even today. I was at techno art. We had to photoshop our faces for our next project, and the teacher took picture of our faces one by one to put on the computers.

Everyone was minding their own business when other people were doing the pics, but the most popular girl in our grade went up to get her picture and every single kid in the class wnet up to watch her.
It's ridiculous.

People are always saying to be yourself and not care what people think. But that's pretty hard to do when you're being shadowed in and patrolled by everyone else.

A girl in my learning group, who really pisses me off, too. A lot of boys like her, but she acts like a total idiot, and still gets whatever she wants. Whenever I'm open about something people are just like, "Ugg, you are such a pervet!" and they're always comparing us to this other girl, which ticks me off.

I just don't understand it. Yet ANOTHER reason why I hate people in general, *most* of them are jack asses.

Well, CLEARLY you go to a better school than I do. Ninety-six percent of the kids here smoke and drink, and by smoke I don't mean just a cig. Marijuana. They talk about it like it's candy when you're a kid. "OHMAHGAWD! I HAD DIS NICE SMOKE OF WEEED AND IT WAS LYKE DUH BEST EVA!"

I say "Hi!" to a popular girl randomly and they'd look at me, roll their eyes and say, "...Um...Hi? What do you want?"

Psh. Even if she did she'd be considered a "Freak".
She's titled as "Freak in Society" in my school, EVERYONE has something against her, and for what? Nothing.

BECAUSE LEA IS CLEARLY MORE BOSS THAN ISA YO.
...But Lea *cough* @Axel *cough* should be a good friend and at least mention him...

And THIS is what will be the future, our parents look at us as future leaders. Future leaders my BUTT! It's already a mess, we are gonna be the fault of this so-called "Doomsday".

I just hate most people.
I have to watch what I say otherwise I'd be flamed at.
Which is why I'm considered shy.

There's this one girl who is actually REALLY smart, she's popular and pretty but she acts dumb for attention, and she's those type of girls that are labeled under that word that begins with W, one time in the hallway she decided it was necessary to announce, "I'M GOING TO THE BATHROOM! *giggle*" and of course a few boys follow behind her.

REALLY? ._. Like, no one at my school EVER does that >< One girl came to school drunk once, and had vodka, but she don't go to my school anymore ^^
Some people in the older years apparently smoke, but idk anyone 😋

Actually, there are some people at my school no one really likes >< I remember the girl who got drunk (used to be in my form class O_o but not the year when she was drunk ^^ the one before that) asking me whether I "liked" this other girl. (And in a friendway, not a... Yeah ><)
Note:
"Do you like so-and-so?" usually translates to; "Ugh, I don't like so-and-so, tell me you don't either, or else you aren't that cool." ><
If they were actually wondering what you thought of the person, they'd be like, "So-and-so is so cool/funny/cute/weird! ^^"
Well, I happened to have just sort of ditched the girl in question, because she used to be my friend but had turned into a complete jerk, so I said no X3
Which makes me mean, but at least I wasn't lying, for once XD

FINALLY. This is my kind of rant.

I would never smoke or drink. But the "populars" think it's just the BEST THING EVER! First of all, I see that everyday. I can wear like a tanktop and people can be like "Put a jacket on, you look like a complete _____!" Then some "POPULAR" girl can wear a tanktop that's even more thin and revealing and they'll be like, "OMG! You look so totally cute!"

And that's a real example. So why do I only seem that way? Because I actual have something to show. Right. Sue me.

My friend is from the Philippines. And today in Math some girl said about how homeless people don't deserve to be homeless. and she said most of them are druggies, gamblers, or alcoholics anyways, and she said, "Shut up, I hate the way you talk." And everyone laughed.

She's extremely smart, so I'm going to laugh later in life when the people that laughed, have to sell theirselves, while she's successful.

And she's like, really cool. But people judge her because of the way she talks, (she also has braces). And it makes me really mad. >_< I HATE POPULARS.

One kid brought in Marijuana and a police came in the same time I arrived so I was scared and thought, "I didn't do it!", I overheard him and the principal talking about some kid in a lower grade than I am brought a bag or Marijuana.

OH! There was this kid, who is now in most of all my classes because he recently returned from gateway, and now he thinks it's okay to talk to me again. I've hated him for years, he's a bad influence and is just a pain in the ass, before he left to gateway his last day of school with us was in sixth grade, he decided it'd be okay for him to storm into class and go up to a table where some of the other students were sitting at and flip the table over and storm out.

Weird. When people say, "Do you like so-and-so?" it usually leads to, "Oh. Em. Gee. ME TOO! Let's fantasize about him!", or, "I saw that you guys hang out a lot...but...EWWW!"

There was this girl me and my friend ditched. I was the one who brought her into our lives as a friend and thought she was nice when really her plan was to ruin me and my friends relationship, took us a year to realize her plan and we finally stood her up and the last few months of school she didn't show up and claimed she had "Mono" when really she didn't because her mother went into court and they didn't have proof so the girl ended up staying back to repeat the grade, the next year she moved.

They just call her a freak in society for having FUN.
My friend is the kind of person who makes jokes, but in class she's usually reading a book, she likes wearing colorful outfits. They never include her in things, for example: every time there's a school slide show there are pictures of students that teachers took pictures of, but the teachers don't edit the video, the kids in student council do and they ALWAYS leave out the pictures of her.

It just doesn't make sense to me! If I wear a tank top it's like, "Um, too revealing much?", and then a girl with HUGE cleavage walks in wearing a tank top with their chest popped out and everyone is like, "You look HAWT!"

For me it's more of, "I wear them because I think the outfit is cute, cleavage isn't something I shove into peoples faces. If I wanted to I'd just run out naked for all I care."

People find it uncool how my friend puts things but she's speaking the truth and is actually far more intelligent than most people in our classes. People would say, "That's NOT funny!", and my friend would respond, "Why is it that you guys find everything I'm saying a joke?"

@Sky Well, I mean, I'm the girl, but I don't wear tank tops to "Show it off" I swear it because I LIKE tank tops, and I have a lot of stuff that goes with tank tops. Sure, I'm proud of what I have, but I don't go around flashing people! Grow up people.

And so I get called the W word for it, but the girl that literally walks in with shorts to the bottom of her butt, and a shirt that doesn't even cover her whole stomach doesn't?

Revealing clothes and such confuse me.

Well I'm... You know... Pre-teen, if you get it... And I have a lot I could reveal. But I DON'T reveal it.

Maybe I'll be wearing a shirt that I like, and I always wear tank tops underneath. Sometimes I'll be walking in the hall with books in my hands and my bra strap will be showing and people stare at me awkwardly. I mean, so what? Not like you're never gonna see a strap in your life. xD

But the popular girls who think they're so great intentionally wear thin clothes and boys will be staring right at them. Sick things is, these girls have nothing!
I don't understand how popularity is determined. Some people are perfect, truly perfect, with good intentions, but they get left in the dust.
You've probably heard about how many kids commit suicide?
I bet you, I just bet you, most of those kids were good people with good intentions. But they were fed up depressed, bullied and sick of the idiots who get all the attention.
I would never want to be one of them, I just don't understand what they have and my friends and I don't.

@Dreamer Hell, maybe I reveal a bra strap every once in a while on purpose. Maybe I had just wanted to make my boyfriend mad.

If I REALLY Wanted the guys to stare at me, I'd go naked like @sky said. Seriously, they only look at the populars because their legs spread like butter. True story.

I usually do wear tank tops, but like my tank top slid down *A LITTLE* and, one of my y'know, are bruised. And someone was like "She has a hickey on her...." You can finish the rest.

But if it was a popular girl, ah hell no! She wouldn't get THAT!

I wear tank tops and at times my bra strap slides down and I'm too lazy to adjust it. Yes, moving my hand to my shoulder to adjust my strap is too much work for me.

Girls at my school are just wanting attention.They call themselves fat, and yet they have pictures on Facebook of them wearing their underwear.

I mean, I was at my local pool with some friends wearing my new Bikini, this kid who is popular and has done IT with mostly EVERY girl in the school comes up to me and tries grabbing me for a hug, I thought, "So, now that I'm wearing a bikini you want to...?", luckily my ex boyfriend came swooping in giving me a hug and said, "The only person giving her hugs is ME!", we weren't together at that time but we broke up because too many things had gotten in the way even though we still loved each other, so technically we weren't completely over each other.

but like popular only in the class
but my OTHER friends and i started to feel sometimes they do stuff because they CAN, even if it isnt gud
sometimes they asked my friends( wait ill call le popular ppl POP and my friends FRIED) to buy them stuff at canteen. it was their own money, but they cbb to wait in line, and prefered le basketball
that was in yr 6
its resolved now because like, were mostly all in diff schools
right now were all okay
but back then

they were plain annoying
dont get me wrong i likes my POP but i had to consider either joining le POP or FRIED
FRIED iwas average or unpopular
POP was popular
i didnt know where i fit
so i sat on the fence and argued both sides
which really, isnt a good side when both sides start hating each other, but both sides trust u
and u cant tell if u should tell sides about info that the other side made rumours about
it was BS.
