Your opinion please?

Okay. Egg Cave is celebrating 1 billion views. GREAT! I'm not being sarcastic, it's truly amazing. I'd like to congratulate the person who gets the prize.

But I think it's kinda unfair. It's total chance, we view creatures half the time, whether in forum, profile, whatever. And the prize could go to:

a) Someone who can actually get CC (some people can't buy CC and this is totally unfair on them)
b) Someone who doesn't need the EC
c) Someone who has all the rare creatures (Macbot, Doovoo etc) and the creature will be of no use to them
d) Someone who wants - but can't get - all of the prizes

I'm not saying I deserve it (I probably won't after this rant). But it's really just chance. I really find it unfair. I doubt any of you guys do, but please post your opinion even so. I'm not going to join in any of the topics that are discussing the 1-billion-views thing. I'm not trying to ruin the fun, I'm just saying my thoughts and I hope at least one person agrees with me. But I guess no one will, will they?

What you said is true, because it can go to an inactive user or someones who's quit etc, but I really don't think you should be worrying about this. I mean, shouldn't we all just be excited about the fact that egg cave is about to get 1 billion views than who's going to get what prize? The prizes are just a bonus for whoever's creature gets 1 billion views, but does it really matter? Should we just be concerning ourselves about the prize?

Honestly, yes I think tge prize is a bit unfair, I hope they release a cave critter to go with it for the rest of us, but the thing is life isn't fair. I know its been said a gillion times, but thats just the way it is. *shrug* all the best to the winner.

1. The people bought the cc because it was THEIR CHOICE.
2. It is seriously EC. It does no harm.

Anywho, it doesn't really matter. It will actually be better if an inactive user wins so none of us have to deal with the jealousy. I know there will still be complaints but if they aren't here then they have no one to thrash for it and it will die down.

It doesn't really matter, the prizes that is.
I am happy he did it but I hope I don't get it.
It would be hard, the decisions to make about what to get and how to give out CC.
I would want to give it out to my friends, but there are good friends I have that I will probably forget to give stuff to and people will be mad at me and it is just a big mess.
I hope whoever wins can handle it.

If people can already buy cc, then they'd give some away, right? I can't blame anyone if they keep all the cc, if I won, I'd keep it all. But, if they already have access to cc, you never know. ^^
It just saddens me that once Ian finally does something huge for the EggCave community, people are never happy. Ehhh. JUst can't be satisfied.
It COULD go to an inactive user or spambot, but think about it... That's a slim chance, right? The more a user is on and the harder they work to get views, their chances will increase drastically. But it's mainly about being in the right place at the right time.
As for the ec: I have 1.2 million ec, but I could still use more!
And if a user has all the rares, they could just choose another creature they wanted? I have the perfect plan ot get my dream cove, but I would enjoy getting a first stage macbot or a hallowolf egg. 😊

So it's all about luck. I don't think anyone deserves NOT to win, I only hope the winner is responsible.

That's ALL we do anymore. Why can't we just THANK Ian? OK, so someone with EC might get it.
I have exactly 28,035 and I could care less who gets it. Someone with CC might get it. They help run the site, if they get it, fine.

Someone inactive might get it. Yeah, we may not like it, but there's a possibilty, so I don't care who wins. If the person that wins can get CC and they keep it all, and you call them greedy, that's not right. They won. They can keep it if they like.

Let's stop complaining and give Ian a break. For once. He's trying to do something for us, that he doesn't HAVE TO.

That's like, money out of his pocket. Something some people don't have a lot of. I'd be happy for whoever won.

I have to disagree. It would be one thing if the prize goes to, say, a spambot, but I really don't see how it's unfair.
Even if it is a user can get CC, it isn't unfair to the other users. I get some once in a while, but it costs real money. The people who buy it are contributing to Egg Cave and paying money for it. Although I can't say I have all the rares, even if I did I'd be thrilled to win another egg of my choice.
Although the prize only goes to one user and it is random, I think it is fair to all of the users. Actually, I believe the fact that it's done by chance is what makes it fair. Ian is doing a giveaway - I don't see much of a reason why this doesn't satisfy so many people.

I don't think the prize will "go" to anyone if the prize is unclaimed. Besides, I trust that Ian will doublecheck to make sure it's not a spam bot or someone with a hundred side accounts because.. well.. why wouldn't he? I would. >.>

Anyway, as far as the fairness of the prizes - I buy my own CC, but as @chloekins said earlier, I do so because I choose to. I'm not bothered by someone getting CC for free.

I also happen to have every critter on EC, so I'd actually hate it if I won haha - I want it to be someone who DOESN'T have their dream creature. The only thing we can do is wait and see!

Either way, I think the 1,000,000,000 views celebration is totally awesome and I'm excited to see the winner and to see the counter switch over to that huge number. 😸

@all I'm not saying I'm not grateful - I'll just be happy Ian is doing a giveaway.
@chloekins Some people can't actually BUY CC and the winner of the CC could (I'm not saying it definitely will) have access to CC anyway. I'm not saying that only I can't get CC and therefore I should get the prize. I'm just saying that the CC could go to the people who can get CC, rather than the people who can't get any of it. As for B, yes, I don't really mind EC because you can get it without any cost.
@thursdays_dove Some people can't by their own CC.
@dawnie This is my first complaint about Egg Cave, so I don't do it a lot, in fact I was quite reluctant to post this but hey, I can actually get punished for ranting IRL. I'm not saying that Ian is being unfair: I'm truly grateful for his part in the celebration and I really want to thank him for trying.

I'm not saying I'm jealous (I'd be really happy for the winner and congratulate them, but no way would I be jealous - this is virtual stuff).
