I hate school, I really do, and I know a lot of other people do as well, and I envy those who love school, honestly, they are more determined to getting their work done and actually learn something, unlike me.

When I'm at home away from school and paperwork my brain is able to function, but once I get to school my brain shuts down, I can't think, and the fact that no matter how much you try to explain something relating to Science or Algebra I just can't get it into my head, it confuses me and everything is jumbled into my head, I see letters and numbers but I don't know what to do with them.

Today I wasn't all that happy going to school, I knew there was an Algebra test today and it's five pages long, usually the work is easy for me and I'm able to get through them, I haven't done an Algebra test in probably two-three months because we've been focusing on learning than actually testing our knowledge to see if we had gotten everything down.

Lately Algebra class has been stressing me out, just about a week ago I returned to school after being sick from the recent virus going around, so I missed a couple days of school work, when I got to school I was confident and thought I'd be able to get to know the new unit we are on, but I was wrong.

I came back and expected for someone (either my friends or the teachers) to explain to me how to solve the equations. Instead the teacher announced we are working on a packet (The thing is like twenty pages or more) INDIVIDUALLY. We could not get any help from the students or teachers, we had to use our notes or watch a video on Khanacademy.org, I found the videos to be unhelpful. I was already struggling and everyone completed the packet and I was on the second page.

Same goes for the test I took today, because through that whole entire time, with notes and such, nothing made sense to me. No one would even help me, my parents don't even remember this stuff so they can't help me, neither can my sister.

I'm already failing this class, and many other classes - but I can easily fix my grades in the other classes, this one I can't because we've been doing individual work and crap. If I don't get any help on understanding the work, how am I suppose to learn?

Not even the notes helped me. I was used to the teacher breaking things down for us but it's clear that I've missed that part.

I'm probably younger then you but I do 3 years above my level 😋

Need any help understanding, I'm here kay?

I hate when people don't understand and the teacher doesn't help, it just ruins the purpose of them

(I kinda want to be a professor in math when I grow up and my whole family works in something related to math so I can definitely help you or get a family member to)

So if you still have questions in Algebra...(are you taking Algebra 1, or 2?) I will be very happy to help 😋

Your personal tutor 😊

@Orange

In class we're working on Slope Intercept forms and Point Slope Intercepts and such.

I already know y=mx+b but the rest just confuses me.

I'm currently taking Algebra one.

But I wish you luck on teaching me. It takes a while for me to process these things.

One thing that upsets me most is seeing others freak out when they get a B+ or an A- because it's not "good enough", well, this quarter I've gotten four F's, I wouldn't be the one freaking out especially if you've gotten many A's in your past life. Last quarter I got two F's one C and the rest D's.

Three of my friends get straight A's. They've promises to help me but now they've given up on me.

@sky
Well, your friends might have but I will never give up on you😊

You have the focus and the wanting that can make you a genius you just have let "letters" or "numbers" bring you down. (grades)

You can go at any pace that you are comfortable enough on 😊 Its fine 😊

So...lets start out what you are most confused on. 😊

It's still fresh in my mind, I took it a few months ago. My teacher has all the NCAA tournament stats on our SmartBoard -__-

Yeah, I guess people do find algebra hard at times and sometimes people just don't understand it. If you really need help, I think you should go and ask your teacher for help and say you're struggling with the topic and don't understand.

Also, I know I live in a different country and all, but the work done shouldn't be too different, so if you need any help with the work, you can always ask for help to me and I'll be happy to assist you if I've done the work^^

I'll come back to you with the stuff I need help with. I'm working on an essay that was due a few days ago for my Civics class that my teacher has been nagging me about, but I'm glad that you're willing to help me!

Because considering I didn't finish the test I'm going to be needing to stay after school on Wednesday to get it done.

I hate Algebra. I'm in 7th grade, and I'm taking it 😋
Yeah, at times when it gets hard, but usually I get help from my teacher. I have an A in the class. 😊
You can ask if you need help, cause I probably can ^-^

Ugg. I hate when you can't get help. -_-

I can't say that I like or enjoy school, however I think our work is pretty managable.

I'm good with math, though. Probably much below you, but still. I'm in the sixth grade, and my math teacher chose to put me in pre-algebra for seventh grade instead of normal math.
On top of that, my English teacher put me in the advanced ENGLISH class as well, Level 1.
I hope this stuff doesn't kill me next year. We'll see what happens, I guess.
The only thing is: Even though I'm really good at math, the homework annoys me. We need to set it up on a dull, gray piece of lined paper. The blue stripes don't make it anymore exciting, either. And it's awful when the teacher tells us to go to a certain page and do a certain problem, and you end up with like 10 long-answer problems. Pisses me off.
I mean, I can DO the homework that I get, but I just don't have the time/don't want to do it.
I'm usually good with my hw, but lately I've been... Slacking? My grades are decent, all As and Bs, but every day I hold off my homework later, and later. I hang by a thread most of the time, but somehow I still get it done.
I don't know if it's out of pure laziness, or there's just a lot on my mind, but I'm not a quiet, independent person anymore. I have more friends now, a group where I belong, tons of people have begun to accept me, and I spend more time on that.
But I don't know how to get my focus level up again the way it used to be. :/

Ergh, I abhor Algebra. I'm taking Algebra II this year, and so far have pulled barely-passing D's the past two trimesters.
I honestly don't understand most of what I'm being taught... (Currently working on solving quadratic equations, completing the square, and formulas + further applications of quadratic equations. UGH.) So my mother wants me to get tutoring help from my Physics teacher after school, since my math grade killed my chances of staying in Honor Society. *sigh*

@sky Well, ❤️ if it makes you feel better. I despise school. If your teacher is THAT sucky that they wont let you LEARN, try to go to another teacher or head of your math department. I hope you get help soon! Don't feel bad. Everyone learns in different ways, and FAIR is what everyone needs to sucseed.
