I can haz neurological disorder? :3

I have a very rare mental disorder. You may have heard of it... Marilyn Monroe had it. It's called synesthesia. It affects anywhere from 1 out of 20 people to 1 out of 20,000 people.
Synesthesia causes linking of neurological pathways, resulting in the crossing of senses. There are many different types of synesthesia, mine is called Grapheme?color synesthesia. That means that all the numbers, letters, days of the week, months, and years have individual colors and personalities. I also see a number line in my head when doing math, or even thinking about numbers.
For example, the letter A is a brick red, the number four is a sea green, and 9 is extremely stuck up, and thinks she is better than everyone else.
Synesthesia allows me to have an extremely good memory, to visualize things rather well, and to do well in math.

I'm curious to know if any other "eggcavers" have synesthesia. AMybe we can compare out letters and numbers!

Ooh!! I have that!! xD

I have ordinal-linguistic personification, which is like a branch of synesthesia where inanimate objects have personalities, too xD

The funny thing is I didn't even know it was a condition until just a couple years ago when we learned about synesthesia in anatomy class, but I thought I was just going crazy for a while there. I remember when I was in elementary school, there was one time where my teacher was asking everyone about their favorite or 'lucky' numbers. I said mine was 73, and when she asked why, I said, "Because it's my favorite shade of green!"

I now understand that not everyone thinks of numbers and letters as having colors and personalities... xD

Music is also very colorful to me... o.o Every song has its own color as well~ C:

But like you said, I too am very good at math, memorization, visualization, etc.

Sometimes when I hear certain songs I think of a color! I remember telling my friend that she had a "pretty phone number". She just looked at me like I was crazy!
I recently learned that my other close friend has Synesthesia, the same type I have. So we compare out alphabets and other stuff like that! So do numbers have colors for you too? If so what are they?

xD that's funny! Actually, its the colors that help me remember people's phone numbers~ our house phone is like a pale, silvery sky-blue color.

But yeah, numbers and letters have colors... xD I have to go but when I get back I can share some of mine~ C:

I don't think I have it, but I characterize a few numbers with colors. I played a game with it when I was little, it was pick a color for a number. I guess that idea developed a lot in my 3 year old head xD 8 is blue, 2 is rusty orange, 5 is red, 6 is green, 9 is purple, and 1 is yellow.
