It wouldn't be the first creature with the name of an actual, real creature. Challenge accepted, haha.

We already have:
Blu (slightly debatable since the true spelling is Blue)
Caiman
Chimera
Lemac is just Camel spelled backwards
Macaw
Sheap is a different way of spelling Sheep
Shrew
Tenalp is Planet spelled backwards

Think that's it for creatures named for real creatures. A lot of the eggs have names that make sense for what they are, though, too 😊

Side note: as I was looking up Whoon, I found a fantastic fan art made by, who I assume to be, @siri ...sorry if I'm wrong. I loved it, whoever made it, and don't want to post the link without permission, but if you just google image search "Whoon" you'll know what I mean 😊

Btw, Ignis is Latin for fire. Not bad for a dragon.

I didn't know that about Ignis...just another where the name leads you to a conclusion without straight-out calling it that 😊

I am glad you liked it. ^^ And well, it just takes practice unfortunately lol. It took me a while to find a style that was enjoyable and easy on me to do such art like that whoon.
