Perhaps the ping was edited in? Or spelt incorrectly?

Hm, that happens to me sometimes. I normally get re-pinged if I don't respond.

@james-bond If you post something WITHOUT pinging anyone, THEN edit your posts with the pings, then the pings won't work.

Example: Karamel posted: "@karamel"
The ping will work here.
Example: Karamel posted: "Hello"
Then I edit the post to say "Hello @karamel".
The ping won't work here.
