So my language arts teacher had us write about if a perfect world was possible today.I thought it was an interesting question, something nice to ponder. What's your opinion? Is it possible to have a perfect world?( just saying... I'm not a cheater. I just want to hear what you think. I already finished my mini paper thing. ;A; )
april__ • 12 April 2012 at 4:07 PM
No. It's not possible. Not at all.
meixiaotian • 12 April 2012 at 4:09 PM
No. The world isn't perfect. People have different views on perfect too. Not to mention then they would probably get a different idea on it.Only in ideas can anything try to be perfect.
gggaaahhh1 • 12 April 2012 at 4:09 PM
No. Say... We had to do that when we read The Giver.
Deleted • 12 April 2012 at 4:14 PM
Not even close. Just no.Have you seen what we've done to this world? We will be the end to ourselves.
jupiter_hollow • 12 April 2012 at 4:19 PM
@zumiA perfect world will never exist. That I am sure of. Nothing, nobody, no place is perfect. The perfect world for me means world peace, no more insults and hurt and war. For another person it is a world without rules, where they could be free and wild and untamed. For someone else it could mean a world of money and riches. For you it could be a world of perfect order - everything in it's place and a place for everything. The 'perfect world' dream is different for everyone. If the wars end and the world is in peace and it's all friendship and hugs that will be Heaven for me but maybe there will be, even if just one, person who will want something else. This will mean that the world isn't oerfect for evryone thus it means that it isn't perfect. The world will never be perfect. This is what I think.
univea • 12 April 2012 at 4:27 PM
No. There will never be a perfect world; to me, that would actually be a little boring. The world probably doesn't want to be perfect
stellalunagirl • 12 April 2012 at 8:12 PM
@zumiPerfection is an illusion... here on earth. 😉
dreamer • 12 April 2012 at 8:14 PM
There will never be a perfect world. Maybe there could be, but people will all NEVER agree on one thing. Some people like causing pain and misery; others are just used to it being this way.I wouldn't want a perfect world, but I'd like to at least get SOMETHING I want :/ You can't choose life tohugh, I guess.
sumilucie • 13 April 2012 at 12:56 PM
@zumi I believe the world is already perfect. Maybe not in a way that luck can bring, but what would you really change that isn't a selfish thought? It's balanced. We're on a planet that has the gift of life, gift of what we believe is existence. People may be horrible, but it's still perfect. They have their personalities as we all do. Everybody has a different perspective though. True perfection is an illusion, but where is the evidence that we are all just an illusion, like living a long dream? Everything happens for a reason, always something naturally trying to lead you somewhere. That, to me, is perfect. I didn't explain everything I think because I'm using mobile device but maybe it's suppose to be that way. (If you got far enough to read this in the first place without getting bored pahaha) Xx
hayz • 13 April 2012 at 1:03 PM
@zumiYes there is.Well, was.Until humans invaded the planet.
cqpkytty • 13 April 2012 at 1:06 PM
@hayzAgree. But with a slight modification: Until humans started modifying their environment to their advantage.
hayz • 13 April 2012 at 1:11 PM
@cqpkyttyMhm.NOW, WHO WANTS COOKIES? 8D
sumilucie • 13 April 2012 at 1:12 PM
@cqpkytty but what's imperfect about building a better life? You would all think the world would be perfect if we didn't 'modify' it? To live in, it would be much much worse. This is a deep topic lmfao no arguements intended I'm just fascinated by it xD
karamel • 13 April 2012 at 1:12 PM
@zumi Nothing is perfect. Ever.I have this favourite quote that cfmtfm always tells me:"Practice makes perfect... but nothing is perfect, so why practice?"
cqpkytty • 13 April 2012 at 1:14 PM
@hayzWhen I grow up, I plan on getting a job and saving up money. When I have enough, I'm going to buy a few acres of woodland. And then live self-supportingly.I try to live fairly eco-friendly now...But there are some things I just can't resist xD (aka Egg Cave)
icymuffin • 13 April 2012 at 1:15 PM
Perfection is just a man-made concept. And if it isn't, then a perfect world will destory itself.
twilight_raptor • 13 April 2012 at 1:16 PM
what exactly is perfection? how do you know we are not perfect now...? ^.o
Deleted • 13 April 2012 at 1:19 PM
There is no perfect world...We are not perfect although we think people are because our minds think that we are imperfect. In reality, that person has their own flaws while we have our own.If we all have flaws, even the trees have flaws, how would it be perfect?for there to be a perfect world, everything would have no flaws and people have different opinions on 'PERFECT' so what world is perfect?
sumilucie • 13 April 2012 at 1:26 PM
@belilalas_25 A dream world? 😊 X
cqpkytty • 13 April 2012 at 1:33 PM
@sumilucieThat's the problem with a lot of people. You think that we (humans) are more important than other species...That plants and animals, and other parts of the environment, were put on Earth for us to use. That we're the most important thing on Earth. And that a "perfect" world would be one in which no person has any flaws, or there's world peace, or whatever. But from the view of anything but us, or of someone who looks at the bigger picture, it is clear that in what most people would consider a "perfect" world, there are still many problems. Maybe not in people, but still. Most people think that a perfect world is one where everyone has an easy life. Where there is comfort, and no hatred. The no-hatred concept is good, but not enough.A lot of people don't realize that a life filled with ease means bending everything else to our will. Some people (like me) think of a perfect world entirely differently. Where Nature is allowed to run its course without being tampered with to the advantage of one species and to the detriment of everything else.
sumilucie • 13 April 2012 at 1:49 PM
@cqpkytty wooah woah I never said anything about being unbalanced with animals, a lot of them benefit too. My point of view was more directed at the 'world' meaning the planet and what lives on it. My perspective is the view of it. I would agree with what you think if it was to be a perfect life, but the question was based upon the world. P.S. I think you would like the tv documentary Land of the Lost Wolves its great and explains natures balance to people. Just thought I'd add that, you seem like the sort.

@sumilucie .___. if the perfect world was the dream world, we would all have different worlds so which one?
sumilucie • 13 April 2012 at 1:54 PM
@belilalas_25 Doesn't really matter how many, they're still perfect to the individual. Gosh I have way too many views on this topic ahaha Xx

@zumiinteresting topic, i think there is no such thing as perfect, look at this horrible world, war, murder, hate, and death in general. I think this world is FAR FAR FAR FAR FAR FAR FAR FAR FAR x1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 from perfect, i mean if there was such thing as perfect. 😃
