If there's anything I hate more than chalk and emergency sirens, it's essay topics that prompt really nothing more than insincere, stale writing.

It's only 200-300 words, but I don't even really know what to say. My mom is making do it because it's for a scholarship. ugh.☹️

I hate them too! I suck at writing, the only thing I have in my writing is a good voice. And the problem with me, is I am too detailed! For our memoirs, w had to write 500-750 words, and my first draft was 1050 words!

blah, I tend to be pretty detailed too.
but now, I just want to get this over with.
But I don't know what to write. It's the bland, blah blah blah explain your goals blah blah crap.

The good part about these kinds of prompts is that they're so plain, a lot of other students will opt out of submitting theirs and that raises your chance of getting the scholarship Dx
But otherwise, it's a pain.

xD

Plus, today, my mom found out about my publications/acceptances in certain literary journals. I kind of wanted it to be a surprise. Now she's going to brag about it and most aren't going to come out til Fall. xD

@metaphor

Blah. There's nothing I hate more than stale writing. How are you supposed to convey anything of value in 300 words?!

Also, congrats on your acceptance into those journals! It's a great accomplishment.

EDIT:

Whoops. On my side. This is @solaris in case you were wondering.

I hate when they tell you stuff like, 'this is a really fun writing assignment! Be creative!' and then tell you:

Describe the processes of weathering, abrasion, and erosion in detail. Be sure to mention deposition. DX

Me: This isn't science.
Teacher: Just write about it, and i'll let you write anything you want next time.

She never does. D:
