Anyone else tired of...

Yeah, so is anyone here tired of people posting somethings like this:


-"Can we be friends?" (Really? Asking for friends?)

-"Please feed my cove" (As in that's the only thing in their post)

-"Hi egg cave" (Not much really, just that I feel that it's off topic when I see this on blogs)

-"Good Morning Eggcave" (Same as 'hi eggcave')

-"If you help me hatch my eggs, I will..." (This one really ticks me off, I mean I can't believe people are that desperate that they will try and bribe people to do something they want)

-People going really off topic when they are posting at blogs (Read the Welcome to May Blog to see my point)


This is not a rant or anything, it's just that I see Egg Cave can be a better site if these unnecessary posts are removed. Because seeing these kinds of posts really drains the energy right out of you.

Feel free if you want to add to these things, just don't bash!

EDIT: Just to get things clear, I don't hate or disapprove of greetings. Like I said, nothing against greetings, I just think that we could save more space if we put greetings and our message in one post, something like this:

"Good Morning Eggcave! I really LOVE the new May designs!"

Or something like that, it's just more on organization I guess.

People posting egg cave posts in the general forum(the one not for egg cave) and vice versa. It doesn't really bother me... but it's just wierd that the MODs don't inforce stuff like that O.o

I know right?! I'm partially relieved that they're hiring new moderators but I'm also afraid that the new mods won't do much enforcing. for example, I saw a thread asking if they played pokemon white/black in the Forum Games section. I really hope that the new mods will be able to sort out all the threads in their respective sections. I also hope that people will learn whee to put their threads.

Well I am guilty of posting "Good Morning Egg Cave" on the blog each morning when I log on.

And honestly I do not see anything wrong with it. There are lots of people who say hello on the blog each day.

If there is a an active discussion on the blog I usually jump into it also, but I almost always start out with Good Morning. I also do not see why this would be against the rules in anyway, or why a moderator would need to do something about it.

I think it is being polite. I say good morning to people in real life also. Stop by the gas station say good morning to the cashier- it is just something I do.
I had no idea it bothered people.

But I never ask people to feed or hatch my eggs. I feel like you should feed others if you want to be fed back. So at least I am not guilty of that one 😊

And I do try to put post in the right areas 😊

Thank you for that, and I really don't necessarily direct it to you.

Yes, I know that there is nothing wrong with it, but I think people should say greetings and their ideas in one post, for example:

"Good Morning Eggcave! I really like the new creature designs!"

Or something like that, maybe the reason why people separate greetings is because of the limited characters, so I think that the mods should expand or increase the number of characters in one post, just as long as it's on topic then there's nothing wrong on having a long post. 😊

Well do you have anything that bugs/bothers you on Egg cave? I mean we're just trying to make Egg Cave a better site and having your input could help the mods!

Did you know that the Blog used to be the "chat" part of Egg Cave before the Forums were introduced? There were plenty of "off-topic" posts there, AKA people chatting and socializing although they weren't talking about the specific Blog post.
And in my opinion, that's just fine, even though we now have the Forums. It's a way of remembering the good old days 😊

Yeah I kinda have to agree with you on that one, I guess what I'm trying to say is that Eggcave could use some organizing since it's kinda the purpose of the forums and it's different sections. 😊

XD Yeah, it kind off sounded like that did it?

Well nothing's really wrong with them, I was just taught to be orderly and organized and seeing these kinds of posts, it make me want to just put them to where they belong! 😊 But I do hope that I made my point, it could improve Egg cave. 😊

I see what you are saying and I understand where you are coming from. The problem I run in to is that sometimes a new message on the blog will be up for a long time. Usually that first day I will comment on what the post was about, but after it being up for several days it kind of turns into a free-for-all discussion. 😊

@cqpkytty I think I am still stuck in those old days..lol I do post on the forums, but I think I still talk more on the blog.. 😊

Okay, that one's a little annoying, but you want to stop people from saying Good Morning?!
Yes, they could put something else in the post, but actually having this reinforced I think would be a waste of Mod's time 😋
Also, reading the "Terms of Service", imagine finding, "You are not allowed to write a greeting alone on the blog", or some such.
I'd sure be discouraged from posting there ._.

But the thing is, it might just be a little -too- strict and tedious if you delete/ban/whatnot those kinds of posts...
I agree, they're annoying. I remember the same one user posted a single smilie every single night in the blog. Dx
But not all of them are really meant to be annoying.

And another thing, there is more to a Mod's job than just that.


The kind of post that really bothers me is "Fed fet. feed back?"
When: they didn't even feed a single creature & they spam those kinds of posts daily ;A;

@ade232 personally I only have a problem with "please feed my cove" but I don't even really care about the whole " it needs to be more organized" stuff. I agree the forums could be a little better by really to me, I think it's pretty good as it is I don't care about orginisation that stuff dosnt bother me...

Yeah, I kinda understand. Well, they shouldn't be deleted or banned per se, that would be too strict! XD Like just put them to where they belong. And yes, I do know that Mods have more to do. And yes, I agree with the whole "Fed fet. feed back" thing.

And as for purplemonsta. Yeah, I guess we have different opinions on things. Good to know that I'm not the only one who is bothered by "Please feed my cove".
