Okay, I have a few pre-algebra problems I need help with, if you guys can help me? 😊

1. x+14 = y+2
What does x equal, and what does y equal? One of them will be negative, but the same digit as the other. (Eg. 1 and -1.)

2. 2 (3x) +1 = 2x+21
What does x equal?

3. 2(y+3) + 3y = 2y+15
What does y equal?

Please help? I can't figure it out. 😊 😋

x = -6; y = 6
-6 + 14 = 6 + 2
8 = 8
Through trial and error...xD

2. 2 (3x) +1 = 2x+21
What does x equal?

Distribute.
6x + 1 = 2x + 21
6x - 2x = 21 - 1
4x = 20
x = 5

3. 2(y+3) + 3y = 2y+15
What does y equal?

Distribute.
2y + 6 + 3y = 2y + 15
5y + 6 = 2y + 15
5y - 2y = 15 - 6
3y = 9
y = 3

Oh, well that may explain it. 😊 We're a grade or two higher above of our actual grade. I don't think it's that much, though. We have Spanish and stuff.

Let's check..

2 (3x) +1 = 2x+21
2 ((3)(5)) + 1 = 2(5) + 21
2 (15) + 1 = 10 + 21
30 + 1 = 10 + 21
31 = 31

Statement is true.
My answer is right 😊

Thats weird why my calculator says 20, odd as heck >.< This is why I like geometry better, none of this junk lol

Lamb heart? o.o We have to dissect a cow eyeball, an earthworm, and a frog sometime. I think we're dissecting a chicken leg, too. 😊

I find it interesting and exciting. But I don't want to dissect a lamb heart or cow eyeball.

Its okay, my teachers are cool and nice. Its different, but I dont know how different, I never went to highschool/been in a school since 4th grade 😋
