So we're doing laws of physics in science now, and I don't understand it at all. T-T

I got an open response the other day, but I didn't have time to do it because I had other homework to do. I'm doing it now but I don't understand it at all. I was wondering if anyone could help me, in sixth grade terms?

Here are the questions:

A book is on a table. A student pushes it for a short time. Initially the book moves, but then it comes to a complete stop.
a. Identify the forces acting on the book before it is pushed. You may include a labeled diagram in your answer.
b. Explain why the book moves and then comes to a complete stop. Use the laws of physics in your answer.
c. The student wants the book to move at a constant speed in one direction. Describe the physical conditions needed for this to occur.

Sorry for being so stupid, but I can't explain this very well in my answer at all. >.<

@dreamer

Sorry, I can't explain stuff well, so it might be one word answers. >.<

A) Gravity...?
B) [Not sure if we learned law of physics yet...] Friction.
C) It needs to be very windy and focused on one focus, the book.

I'm sorry. This was no use at all.

@Hayz We need complete sentences. X3 I explained friction for the second problem, and unbalanced forces (which would be the table). For the third one, a windy day wouldn't make sense in my answer, especially since if a student is pushing a book on a table, it's most likely going to be inside. X'D
