hello! here is some advice:
1. Dont overfill your cove with critters, people will be too lazy to feed it
2. be sure to feed your own critters daily!
3. to get backgronds, go to the travel agency (under explore)
4. to know what your eggs will hatch into, go to archives (under explore)
5. to chnge your critter's name, go to the town hall (once again, under explore)

...well, there is a bunch more, but I trust you to find out for yourself.
