It might sound stupid, but I don't.
I'm just not happy with myself. Haven't been as of late. I know it might sound terribly snobbish of me, but...I can't stand the idea that I might not be the among top of my class anymore. Stupid finals. It just bothers me immensely. I just...I hope I get sick or something because I don't want to go.

If you don't go, you might regret it for the rest of your life. You only graduate once. Plus, think about your friends and your family, and everybody who would be sad if you weren't there. It's going to be fun. Graduation is something to celebrate! However long from now, class rankings from high school aren't going to matter, but being recognized for all your hard work in education is. Twelve years in the making!

Don't worry about what might happen with grades. That stuff just isn't worth fretting about. As the late Ray Bradbury said, "Jump, and you will find out how to unfold your wings as you fall." Just go. c: Go and enjoy yourself.

I'll just let you know... I didn't go to graduation. Nor prom.

I do regret not attending my graduation, but don't regret not going to prom.

Give it some serious thought. My parents were also very upset. They missed getting to see me walk across that stage. (thankfully, I'll be attending the graduation ceremony for college)

My mom understands if I don't want to go.

It's my dad I'm worried about. I guess he's looking forward to it. I don't know what the big deal is though. I'd hate to seem selfish, but I just don't see why it's a big deal. I move on. That's it.

Besides, I'll probably have a horrible stomachache all the way up to Sunday anyway.

I think you should go 😊 In 10 years, it won't matter where you placed in high school. And where you're going to college (if you're going) doesn't matter THAT much either, it's only a piece of paper. Now I'm not saying that internet-schools and Yale are equal.

Lol, I'm going to a good college. Not Yale or anything, but a nice college and I'mm looking forward to it.😊

I kind of calmed down about the whole thing. I'm still pretty anxious about it, but my grades are still good so even I'm not a high rank, at least I kept my college scholarships.😊

Congrats on Graduating and receiving scholarships!

I went and it really is a rite of passage. For all your hard work you deserve to walk across that stage, hold out your hand for the diploma and move the tassel.

My son will be a Freshman this year in High School and I am a bit sappy about it all. I have visions of him walking across that stage in 4 years and us cheering our hearts out. I would be upset if he did not want to do it. It's a Milestone and huge one for both of us.

Glad to see your feeling a bit more calmed 😊

Aw, that's so awesome. Good luck to your son!

And I actually am starting to feel a little more excited about it. My family is excited (my mom, dad, sister, aunt, uncle, and cousin are all coming 😋). At first, I was so upset that I only wanted my mom and dad to come, but now since I feel a little more at ease about the whole thing, I want them all to come, which is a good sign.😊

Graduation actually went well! I of course zipped right across the stage when getting my diploma that I forgot to take a picture with the principal. Oops.😋

but really, it went well. I had to stand three times total--of course to get my diploma, but also to acknowledge National Honor Society and because I did end up being recognized for academic achievement. When I got there before we went into the auditorium, the guidance counselor rushed up to me with a gold sash and told me to put it on, and when I realized what it was for, I was happy. 😃 Plus, I had on my blue and yellow cords for NHS.

My graduation wasn't that long as there were only like 60 graduating seniors and a few speakers. Small charter schools for the win.😋

After that, I went to Olive Garden with my family.

So yeah, it all went well in the end!

@metaphor Congratulations! 😊 I also graduated this past month -- @Meteoroid as well.

Although I'm a bit envious of the size of your graduating class. I had nearly 6 times the amount and the ceremony took forever! 😋

Glad you decided to attend, though. I had some of the same thoughts but am glad I did.

@metaphor - Coongraatz! 😊
Actually, I think your dad wants to see you walk on the stage getting your diploma or whatever. They are happy to see their children go up there finally graduating after all the efforts they have spent. I mean, whose parent/s wouldn't glad seing their children finally graduating? I think none especially dads.

Also, you might regret not attending to your graduation in the future, right? And I'm glad that you're glad and you attended your graduation. 😃~

Congratulations!

Seeing you achieving so much, it makes me think that nothing's impossible/everything's possible! You're one of my role models now. 😊

All the best! ^^

Well congadulations anyways.

But I do want to purswade you...

My history teacher this year tole us that when my class grduates he wants us to go. He said that if he didn't go to graduation he would of regreted it. His family was all happy when he got his deploma and if he didn't go. What would they have thought. Even his mom, raspy and not always the nicest person was glad to see him.

So I would go. You don't know what might happen.
