Plain got up and looked around the cave werily. Then at the outside, then her paws and tail. She had a husky like apperence because of her mother, she knew only that her father was a wolf. She sniffed the air and felt a tingle in her spine. her mind burst out the word. 'WOLVES' instictively she raced to the far end of the small cave.

She srugged at Shadow.
Laying down on the dust earth she watched the last of the wolves asemble. Night was falling and the wolves were gitting restless to git out of camp. Guided by the moon the patroles began to move out, leaving only a few straglers.
"Its not fair that we have to stay locked up here," SperritBird mumbled
"Its not for us to call", SoloFire shrugged.
SperitBird looked up at the night sky and closed her eyes.

'There was a flash of red and a splash of grey as the picture became clear. Were am I? SperitBird could see a dark cave scarcely big unuf to conceal a fox. There was a trail of bloody foot prints leading to the cave. What happened here? She began to creep tword the darkness. A wave of shock hit SperitBird as the back of the cave lit up around a grey ball of fur. The fur was a wolf.'

At the camp Abby lied down in a clearing where the bright moon shone through the trees.A lot of the wolves were gone, leaving a few adults and all the pups behind.

The dirt was like dust.And the air was cold.Abby trotted back to her place by a tree.Everything went black a her eyes closed.

Waking with a start SperitBird found herself on the edge of the camp border. 'How did i git here?' She looked silently through the brambles. 'I have to git to that cave before the patrols!' As tho her paws were being cared she raced out into the forest.

FriskBreeze, was also chosen for the Patrol.....Her paws dragged as well as her pelt......

She hung back from the patrol.... making several wolfs angry..... she thought she saw SperitBird, dash by, but decided not to say anything.......

SperitBird dashed through the birch woods and tword the side of the mountain. Wary from the run she slowed. Althoe she had never bin this far from camp she still felt as if she knew were she was going.
Here paws came to a stop as if she had know control. 'speritbird. speritbird.' Voices began to swell around her. Knowing that some one was watching she tuned around slowly.

SperitBird was too shocked to move. The sperit motioned tword her. 'Come' the voice said. Although the sperit did not say it SperitBird knew it was speaking to her. Her paws moved slowly as she followed the wolf to the sperit to ShadowRock.

Plain still smelled other wolves as she crept to the back of the cave. She stayed out of the light so that she couldnt be seen, the other wolves she could tell were closing in on her. She stayed near the wall of the small cave. The blackness of the light fell apon her fur. The whiteness of it put a bright sparkle in the cave, an almost silver one flashed on the walls.

A loud rustling woke Abby.Out of curiosity Abby darted towards the trees.

"I'm not supposed to leave camp." Abby reminded herself turning back at her tree.More rustling came from the top of the trees.It was dark and Abby couldn't make out what was in the trees.All she knew was that it was small.Abby stepped in between the trees.
Abby leaped back in the clearing. "What am I doing!?" Abby thought.No other wolves were watching her.She took two playful leaps in to the trees.Still no wolves were watching.

"I'll go in just a little bit...I'll be back in five minutes." Abby said to herself.Darkness seemed to watch her every move.Then the rustling moved away.Abby chased it in a little further.All she could see was the trees.

They where almost to the cave......
Her paws where to sore from the rocky earth.....
She fell, she couldn't take it anymore.....She layed there for a few seconds, before she got to her feet.....

All of a sudden Abby's heart seemed to stop.She was in the middle of the forest, with no light to find the campgrounds.The rustling didn't sound again but the breeze rattled the leaves.
"SperitBird!?...are you there?!...please help!" Abby didn't hear any sign of other wolves.

SperitBird raced after the sperit. The forest seemed to flow around her with every tree. She scarcly wanted to even close her eyes whin they ran through low hanging branches and ferns; the fear of her vizion blocking her mind.
Then everything slowed.
"We are here,"the sperit wisperd.
SperitBird blincked a few times. After focusing fear swepted over her. She wanted to turn and run but her cold paws were glued to the ground.
Blood stains tracked the ground. Leeding to the shadow of a cave known as ShadowRock.
"What happend heir?" SperitBird asked the glowing light of the sperit.
"Look for yourself," its slender muzzle slowly motiond tword the cave.
Taking a few steps SperitBird edged into the darkniss.
"Hello?" She woofed.
There was no ancer.
SperitBird took a few more steps. Things began to come into veiw as her eyes adgusted to the dark
"Please! Ive come to help!" She roze her voice a bit. Then shock. In the back of the cave roled into a little ball was the beatin body of a wolf. Its fur was torn away in places leaving bleeding flesh. Its chest heaving as she fought for each breath. Its eyes were closed and her hart beat was slow. Bite marks! SperitBird froze; now she knew all the storys were true. The storys of nightmares. Canibals!

Abby heard wolves howl.But the only thing she could see were the tall trees.

"What am I going to do!?" Abby yelled to herself.Small raindrops began to drop down her snout.Abby curled up and went to sleep by the trunk of a wide tree.

Plain poked her head out, "No wolves" She sighed. "Must have been all in my head" She told herself, she glanced around seeing a small wolf pup she started to walk toword it. It had been curled up at a tree trunk. When she reached it she grabed it by the scruff.

Abby awoke violently.She jerked her head up and saw that it was Plain.Abby was too scared to speak.

"What's gonna' happen now?"Abby thought curling her tail between her legs.

Plain seemed to know where she was going.This both made Abby happy and scared.Happy because they were going to somewhere safe.But scared of the punishment she was going to get.
"How'd you find me?" Abby choked.

Plain brought the Pup into the cave. It was small but not cramped. Actually it looks smaller on the outside than on the inside. Her fur was damp with rain. "You think I am blind, pup? I could see you" She told the pup. "And of course I wouldnt leave a pup out in the rain alone" She said shaking out the rain from her fur.

Plain's voice echoed lightly though the dark cave.Abby was starving, and freezing.

"Sometimes having white fur isn't the best thing in this world."Abby mumbled.Water drops tumbled down her shoulders.

"Sometimes grey fur isnt the best either. So your from the pack, three hills over, on the other side of thunder mountin I mean. Or are you from the pack of, what they call. Bloodranks.. Or I call Canibals" She asked the pup.

"And are you hungry? When rain comes other animals come out to drink.... Its a good time for hunting" Plaintold the pup. "Oh look at me I'm babbling again... So what pack are you from?" She asked the young pup.

"Ummm.....I don't exactly know where I'm from.I just knew it as home."Abby realised.Abby remembered the smell of the camp.how safe it felt.

"And I'm starving."Abby said quietly."You're different from the other wolves.Most of them would probably kill me on first sight." Abby cowered at the thought.

"Because, I am no wolf. I am a half breed. A mutt persay, half dog, half wolf. I am not even worthy to have saved you" She turned her head from the pup. " You are a wolf pup. Pure breed, I am nothing like anyother wolf you will ever meet" She said.

Plain walked over to the corner of the cave/den. She picked up a silver stick looking thing. She took it outside and put it into the ground, it stood up up pointed towords the sky. She layed a normal dry stick down and made sure they were touching. Then lighting shot down from the sky, it hit the silver stick and the normal dry stick caught fire. Plain picked it up and took it into the cave. She set it into a pile of dry leaves and other dry sticks. It quickly caught fire and the cave was filled with light. "Unlike any wolf you will ever meet" The words echoed in her head.

"I will be back" She told the pup starting toword the cave opening.

Abby watched as Plain walked out the cave.Now Abby could see that her legs were caked with mud.The rain was pounding on the wet sloppy ground.The sky was dark...Abby couldn't even see the moon.

"I'm just trouble waiting to happen." Abby said bowing her head.There were scratches on the walls of the cave, and the cave was warm.Abby waited for Plain to get back.She found herself getting a little farther away from the flaming stick.

"Don't look at the fire." She told herself.This reminded her of her past.The two things happened, Abby got saved and there was fire.

Plain reminded her of the little girl who saved her from the fire.They were both different.But not afraid of who they are.It doesn't matter to them.That I'm myself, the trouble making blabber mouth I am.

Plain looked through the mist llike rain, a figure appered. It was the spirit of the north winds! "Siar" Plain bowed her head, the spirit gestured for her to follow. So she did, the spirit lead her to a large herd of carabiu. She glared at the herd, the spirit vanished along with words that where stuck inthe air. " One diffrence, will save the pack" She didnt know what it ment but only knew that the spirit was full of wiseness and prosparity.

Plain stalked the herd for severl minutes then sprinted towords a large male who broke off from the herd, it ran like its tail was on fire. But Plain, Plain was faster, unlike many wolves she had endurance AND speed on her side. She brought it down with one single blow and pulled it by the antlers back to the cave. There was a tear in its neck from where she brought it down.

SpiritBird woke with a start. Two blood-red and green eyes were staring strait at her. The eyes belonged to a wolf! Its muzzle was whitish grey with long scratches through the short prickly fur. SpiritBird chocked, she knew that smell. This wolf was a Cannibal! She jumped up to make a run for it but a hard paw pressed her to the ground. 'I'm going to die!' her mind exploded with fear.
"Stop!" The wolfs voice was calm but firm.
SpiritBird pressed herself to the ground and swung around to face the wolf. Yet to her surprise the grey wolf was scarcely older then herself! His different colored eyes brite and his puppy fir just starting to flatten.
"Please don't kill me!" SpiritBird wimped.
The young male wolf stared at her for what seemed to be an eturnity. Then his eyes softened.
"Its ok, i wont hurt you," he whisperer.
SpiritBird backed herself agents the tree in witch she had fallen asleep. She guessed that she had dosed of after leaving the ShadowRock last night. 'But were had the spirit gon?'
The wolf motioned tword her. Fear spewed SpiritBird once agen as he poot his muzzle up to her ear.
"I promise," he whisperer slowly.
The young wolf sat in front of SpiritBird so were she couldn't make a brake for it and they were eye to eye.
"Hi!, I'm Arsenal!"

Plain drug in a huge caribou.Abby looked at it in amazement.He had big antlers and bold colors.
"That was fast.And....thanks." Abby said rising to her feet.Abby could smell it, and it smelt so good.

Abby had been laying down for so long that all four of her legs went to sleep and it felt weird to walk.Abby started to eat around the tears in the caribou's neck.

Plain layed down near the fire. It had grown dim, as had the storm, only now was it just a drizzle. She looked into the fire and the vision began;

There was a wolf, or maybe a dog. One or the other. It was speaking to a large wolf with a bone crown there was a flurry of wispers and the vison faided to black, that was all she had ever been able to see.

Abby looked at the fire.She watched as some of the fire leaped off the stick and cracked and popped.Water was dripping from the top edge of the cave.The tree branches stopped swaying and now shivered.

Abby closed her eyes and layed on her side.She opened her eyes a crack and saw that Plain was watching.Then she turned back to the fire.

Plain turned her eyes from the fire and looked at the walls. There were paintings of dogs with humans, helping bring down elk and deer and even Carabiu. Plain got an Idea.

"Pup, whould you like to see where I am from? The place I was born?" Plain asked the pup. She got up and streched her arms awaiting an answer.

"It stopped storming." Abby pointed out.Now it was lighter out because the moon was uncovered and dawn was approaching.
