So I play a certain site. On this site, there is a lot of emphasis on developing your pets' characters, giving them layouts, overlays, stories, etc.I have 20-something pets on said site. Most of them have profiles but very few have stories. In fact, only three have complete stories. The rest I either 1. haven't begun or 2. keep restarting because I realize how crappy they actually are once I get going. For instance, one sounded too influenced by Kurt Vonnegut. Another, too flowery and a bit stuffy. Another just plain didn't make much sense.I'm a big time procrastinator. And so by the time I actually get started on another story, I look back on a finished one and think, "Ew, I wrote this? It's horrible."Thing is, those pets all have won pet spotlight. *shudders* So I don't really have the heart to delete them and start from scratch. I guess I'll keep them around as a reminder to myself of how NOT to write.I guess I could look at this as, "Hey, you've improved over the years if you see what you did wrong in those other stories. You can take that and make the next ones even better."But er, it still just kind of discourages me. xD
