Well, dont you think EC is turning a bit "sour", u see i have been seeing some users struggle, they work hard on raising creatures, imortalizing them, and trying to trade them to get what they seek. unfortunitly, Some users see that as "junk", and will never trade this or that whatsoever, it seems that Egg Cave users cant get anywhere without having to struggle getting a "to die for" creature, it just isnt fair, remember when we used to trade based on "cuteness" or "coolness"? Now we just hoard rares just becuase that the are rare! ☚ī¸

I don't
I see struggles every newbie has started with, at some point or another
My first "Rare" was a gift to me, Bethlehem, but @furfur. But even after then, I didn't trade anything good really until I learned. After many sour trades where I got the short end of the deal. Some in desperation [Like Sammii, I traded two tines, a rhinedorf, and two balrogs.] It was when they were first out and rareness didn't matter, but now that I look back, it was a horrid deal. But I wanted it. I was desperate.

I think eggcave, and life, if what you make it. So what if you can't get an egg you really like? Even if you never get it, you can work towards other goals.

See my cove? It's from many bad deals, years of being on eggcave, and generous friends.

In two years, I guarantee your cove will look like mine. May not have the same critters, but you get the point.

Not everyone is stingy and cruel, as I see a lot of people pushing. When I see a newbie is taking care of their coves [IE, able to put them on Tim's and keep it up] I give them a semi-le to get them started. Heck, that's blown up back in my face. I got tricked out of a critter because someone was pretending to be a newbie, and I ended up losing a critter. But, I don't regret it, because life happens and I can't hang up over such petty stuff.

I still view cuteness>rareness.
I never have like the macbot. Nor the doovoo. Never really want one.

I've rambled, I know.
But I'm just so exasperated by these woe-es-me post

This is so true!! I think people should trade creatures for what they look like instead of rarity 😊

Also, you guys have to understand, us oldies with the "Good" eggs people want, like the Onny, usually grow attachment to our eggs and don't want to trade them. It doesn't mean that we're hogging them; just we love them

I trade mostly for cuteness. I might trade to get a really rare creature, but only so I can get more cute ones. My cove is solely based on what I think is cute😊

@cafe BRAVO!!! *claps*

I never went on rare. Sucks for me that the best are the rarest.😋 My Onny was my #1 goal on EC. It was the reason I joined. That and the Sey.😸

Newbies struggle at the start. Do you think the awesomest cove started with their Onny egg? Nope.😸 You need to work to get your cove pwetty, otherwise it isn't fun.

I disagree i think part of the fun is having something rare that not many people have. Its like in real life people will spend million of dollars for a rare car or rare item just based on its rarity. Everyone wants to have a one of a kind item.I just got a doovoo and im so freakin happy and mainly because its the rarest creature on eggcave but i also like them as well. Eggcave wouldn't be as much fun to me if i wasn't working so hard to get these rare creatures for my cove. I would hate it if their was no rare creatures and nothing to work hard for. I don't think I would be a member of this site if their wasn't.

True ;C Almost every CC in my cove I had to trade an offer worth 2 CCs. And I regret trades I've done.

I disagree as well. I worked hard and only had one creature handed to me. Who I still have *gasp* I don't lie, cheat, or steal which is not the same as working hard to be clear..for my creatures.

A lot of accounts I see that are complaining are pretty young. Most find that to help someone you need to be at least 6 months or older. Too many young accounts have quit when given a semi- Le or more. Or they beg saying I can't get CC...sorry not my problem 😊

There are creatures I would love to have. I rather do it the honest hard way then expecting everything handed to me. Just as I am irl.

@1992firebirdgirl
I agree with you. 😊

@stellie
I also think Cavers want to collect rares because it gives them a sense of accomplishment. This is why some people go on to eggcave. 😊

Argh. I'm going to have to agree.

Most people I've encountered keep a creature because of its value, not because of it's design, and then they go flaunting it around saying, "Eh, they're not that great, but they're rare."

To me, in reality I collect TCG cards such as Pokemon, I have thousands of them, I like to play them against my friends.

I had this friend (no longer friends), she would collect cards, she collected them because everyone else had and she had valuable cards, but she didn't care about the looks, the show, the game, just their rarity.

Why have them just for their value when you can simply give it to someone who can put it into use?

And no, you don't have to give it away freely, you can trade it with a more reasonable offer.

That's what I did with my cove, I adore my creatures.

😊

@stellie
I've grown attached to my creatures 😋 I remember one time I would have given anything to get a tine but now I won't because I am not willing to part with the creatures I have to trade for one.
And I think this is some kind of a chain reaction. Newbies want the lovely old creatures which usually the oldies have, but the oldies dont want to trade them because they are either attached to these creatures or they are saving these creatures to get the rares from their "dream cove" list (Maybe thats what you meant by hoarding, but, eh, they have their "priority" goals xD). And newbies dont have the said "dream cove creatures" to trade with the oldies. But these newbies have to be patient. I'm sure none of the users got rich over night and it sometimes took more than a year to achieve those awesome coves.
And who knows, I might even "hoard" a few rares to trade for the said tine (How else am i supposed to do it), but I dont have the time to struggle for it right now 😋

The other thing is, I get all these eggs right? Really rare and awesome but let's say someday I want to trade my onny. The only thing is that I don't want all these huge lots with tons of ccs people are trading for onnies. But giving it away isn't the same either, the person receiving the onny doesn't get the fulfilment of trading for it. I mean, I really don't mind circulating some rares but I just don't know how to do it.

@stellie I trade my Creatures for both their value and cuteness. Like a Tine it never grew on me and I dont care much for it im not willing to trade some of my CC's for it even though it has a "high" value 😋. As for the clous's I was willing to trade for them because I found them cute and they are rare. (:

I'm trading more for I like how it looks. 😋
But I do get attached to my creatures XD

I trade things I don't like for things I do like 😋
And I like a lot XD
Especially horses. I will never give away any horses. Even commons.

I do both 😸 If I could get one of any creature on eggcave, I would get a macbot just so i could trade it for what I really want, such as a 2nd stage nym 😸 I would not trade my nym for anything, even if said other creature was rarer than a nym, because i simply love nyms and think they are the most amazing creatures ever. So I would get the rare, just because I could trade that for what I want.

I only collect creatures I like, and rare creatures to trade for the rare creatures I like. But rarity will always be a factor in any economy, and you can't blame people for wanting rare creatures just for their rarity.

I love the common creatures! I'm tired of people referring to them as "junk" ☚ī¸ But also love rare creatures not just because they're rare but I love their look 😊
