Well, she's my little Guinevere and I don't want her to get hurt. She came up to me a little while a go and made me pick her up, like always. Well I was petting her and she squealed when I touched a spot on her back. I noticed that the fur was ripped out of the spot and there was a yellowish flaky thing. It was I think a scab, but I don't where should of gotten it from. The toughest play fight her brother was when she held him down to lick behind his ears. They are very close.

@seaangelUnfortunately, I'm not a vet. I don't know anyone on here that is either. My best advice to you is if you are worried about an infection to get her to a vet, or someone that may know more.Is she an outside cat? perhaps she got into a fight there.

Maybe it was a rash, or maybe she got ahold of some cleaning products?

@april__@hay7199No, she isn't an outdoor cat. She's indoor, I don't see how she could get a rash. We keep all of our cleaning products under lock and key.

@seaangelMaybe she got a flea or a really itchy spot that bothered her for a couple days...this may have caused a sore that turned yellow when she got into something yellow.I would say, if you are worried get her to a vet. Just to make sure everything is okay and maybe learn something new to look out for.

@jazzyleia Hmm, I wonder how she would have gotten a flea, if she did. Anyway, I probably with take her to the vet if it gets worse. She does have dry skin, but we've been giving her baths for it (FYI: Those aren't fun for any of us.) She has been scratching for months.

@seaangelAre baths really good for your cat? *i never really knew because i thought cats just cleaned themself and that baths would just make their skin drier*But I could be wrong but I know my cat sometimes gets a really itchy spot for a few days and then it turns redish purple and then goes away.

Well too many bathes can dry out her skin, have you been putting flea or tick medication on her? Or anything? Or a new food? It could be an allergic reaction if youve been her anything new, my dog has a bald patch on his elbow with dry skin, id check with vet just in case though. It may be something like a horsefly bite or someone more serious, just keep an eye on it

@seaangelPlease don't look to the internet for a diagnosis, it can be dangerous. If you can't take her to a vet today, then at least see about calling a vet to see if there's anything you can do to help your cat and make sure it's nothing serious. Also, I've never seen a yellow scab/spot on any of my cats, so please be careful if you don't know what caused it.
