I know some of us are stuck with some names we don't want, and I'm sure some of us wish we could change them, right? If we could change our username it'll be a miracle. Like, I'm getting tired of fakeworld. Only if we could change it, maybe for 25 CC. Since this is a somwhat exclusive ability I think EC shouldn't be a option to change your name with. π
mewlynnmagic • 8 July 2012 at 8:30 PM
@fakeworldAGREED. Some people have really /crappy/ usernames, and WOULD VERY LIKE to change them instead of switching accounts.
jazzyleia • 8 July 2012 at 8:30 PM
i don't know...then people would get mad at others because they took their username.I think it is just easier to make a new account and make it your new main when it is old enough then use the other as storage.
fakeworld • 8 July 2012 at 8:30 PM
@mewlynnmagicExactly, like it's usernames we have created. But it seem like now they're getting uselss.
boxofcrayons • 8 July 2012 at 8:31 PM
I'm with @jazzyleia on this one.
fakeworld • 8 July 2012 at 8:32 PM
@JazzyleiaHuh, do you mean when someone change their username, then someone else change their username to that speicifc name they're going to get mad? Well, it was obviously their choice to change it. Making a new account, is just to much. Why have loads of accounts when you can just keep one.
jazzyleia • 8 July 2012 at 8:33 PM
@fakeworldWell that is just my opinion..i feel if this were made that there would be unessesary drama about the usernames and people stealing and people who can't get CC
chibidarkness • 8 July 2012 at 8:34 PM
I think it would be a bad idea...people would get lost and can't find another user that say, changed their username. Unless someone organizes something.
fakeworld • 8 July 2012 at 8:36 PM
@JazzyleiaI don't get the part when you say."people stealing and people who can't get CC"People stealing what? That's already a problem with people that can't get CC. CC is something exclusive, everyone cannot just simply get CC. A name is a name and a account is account so I personally I don't think it would matter lol.
jazzyleia • 8 July 2012 at 8:43 PM
@fakeworldI am saying that 2 people would want the same username but someone changes it a second before the other...then the other person gets mad and accuses them of stealing (yes some people do that) and then drama would be created.Eggcave doesn't need anymore drama.

I think the ability to change your username is okay if it's only allowed once or twice every month to prevent over-abuse of the system. I don't think it should only be for people with CC, and besides, 25CC is a very awkward number, you can't use the remaining 75CC well (or 225CC, 475CC etc). The option just doesn't seem like it should be exclusive to CC owners. It's not a creature or something which changes your creatures, it's just your username. Maybe make it free or cost some amount of EC. It's kind of like...the ability to edit your profile. Not a very "CC" kind of ability. As for username confusion, there could be an option to see a member's past usernames on their profile or something, so no one can just change usernames and act as a new person.
cinderstar5554 • 8 July 2012 at 8:49 PM
I think you this idea is good π I think that there should be something to tell us if someone else has that username. That way there's no confusion π

@fakeworldOne question, say someone has a username you want, and you pay to have your username changed, can you pick their username , even if that means taking it from them, so they have to pick something else?If so, I most definitely don't like the idea. *sorry if this has been answered, I haven't looked through the posts.
fakeworld • 8 July 2012 at 8:57 PM
@Sunshinecat Love it. π@DarthvaderNo, thats like signing up picking someone username they already have. Impossible. Changing your username would be like changing it into something someone else don't have. Hopefully if it ever becomes true, it'll be a check availability button.

@fakeworldThen, yeah, the idea sounds cool. π
fakeworld • 8 July 2012 at 9:03 PM
@darthvader Glad you agree, I think thats where some people got confused.
shadielle • 8 July 2012 at 9:18 PM
@fakeworld Sorry, I don't particularly like this suggestion. Suggesting the ability to change your username with CC totally proves my point: the capitalism is really taking over this website. I don't think it would be fair for most people changing their username with CC, since most people don't have access to CC and since chaging a username is something simple and that has nothing to do with the website art and with the artists' work - which has to get payed -, so it shouldn't be something we'd have to pay for. The second reason why I don't agree is because you can lost track of a particular user or of a friend of yours. And imagine losing track of a cheating user =\
fakeworld • 8 July 2012 at 10:07 PM
@ShadielleOn your part when you said."imagine losing track of a cheating user"I'm sure Egg Cave would have the recent history of that user based on when they changed their username, etc. Changing your username is simple, but I believe it's something exclusive. It's already not fair, that people can buy certain things in the Cave Cash Park when others don't have access to CC. Think about it. I understand what you're saying but some of the things you said already happens without the username changes.
whispers • 8 July 2012 at 10:15 PM
I don't agree. At least 75% of this site doesn't have CC. So it would be unfair to most users that cannot get it. And it would be weird losing track of your best friend because you don't know what they changed their username to. Then also, CC capitalism is terrible. This site is revolving around CC. We don't need anything else that would contribute to this terrible CC capitalism.
shadielle • 8 July 2012 at 10:23 PM
@fakeworld @whispers just explained my point a lot better than I did. I can't explain better since english isn't my mother tongue. But I think whispers made it clearπ
elementalpaws • 9 July 2012 at 12:23 AM
I think it would be hard to keep track of people if they kept changing theirs.....but thanks for suggesting.
