I'm not sure how to explain this....When I sit for a while and stand up, after a few seconds, black dots take over my vision (usually around five seconds, the longest is ten seconds, I guess), followed by dizziness and shortness of breath/fatigue. It has happened ever since I was four, but very rarely. Now, it happens at least three times a day (eg. When I get out of bed after waking up). o.oI told my doctor about this and I had to do a blood test to see if I was iron deficient. Apparently I wasn't. It keeps happening often now and he doesn't seem to care, so perhaps it's okay/normal? So, I'm kind of wondering if anyone else experience this....or have any advice to stop it. ^^

@lola622fIt happens to me all the time, and I sometimes pass out, too. I've only passed out three times, though.

@lola622fI honestly would go to the ER if the doctor doesn't help with anything (I hate doctors) Thats sorta dumb though how your doctor wont help, and I dont know what it is but you should go to the ER if it keeps persisting!

@lola622fThat has happened to me mostly when I stretch or yawn. xP I think it's that blood is pumping faster, or something. I'm pretty sure it's normal.

@emeraldmonsterI might go to the ER, although I don't think that it's really bad. Just annoying. Sometimes I hate doctors too. I knew a child who had a seizure once and the doctor was like: "Oh that's okay. Just take some Tylenol" >.<@pebblestar-nightclanO.o Really? D: I only passed out once....

@lola622f HOLP CRAP, I GET THAT TOO!
karamel • 3 August 2012 at 12:06 PM
@lola622f It happens for me a lot. Apparently it's because the blood is pumping faster (hence the dizziness) OR you have a very strong heart (I remember reading something about this... can't find it anymore :/) and therefore it's pumping even harder because of your slight "strength"/oxygen use.I hope that made sense >.<"

@lola622f Oh I never blacked out. 😋 Also sometimes happen when I stand up.

@lola622f My friend had a seizure 3 months ago and the doctor said she had to just drink water... :/ If I were you I would go to the ER ASAP!

@karamelThanks for telling me. 😊 @linpug Yeah, I'm beginning to think that's normal. @emeraldmonsterMy parents aren't home. Yet. :/
emeraldmonster • 3 August 2012 at 12:15 PM
@lola622fThen when they get home!@karmelYou are completely right when you get up to fast or stressed out your blood can pump so fast that you can become very dizzy! (karamel should be a doctor)

@lola622fMy parents did the same thing (getting blood tested) 😋 It's either that your heart is strong if you play sports so while you stand up it takes a while for your heart to pump blood to your head.

@emeraldmonster I should be a doctor? o-o" I just used logic xD My mum said I should be a therapist, beautician, politician, accountant, plumber, nurse, doctor, surgeon, artist, singer, dancer, athlete, author, factory worker, editor, publisher, songwriter, organiser, volunteer, charity worker, play worker, teacher, mathematician, poet and engineer.... Yeah, I fix a lot of stuff around the house, hence my 25 choices of jobs! 😊

This is completely normal. (: When you're sitting down, your heart pumps slowly, sometimes making you dizzy if you change position quickly. This is because, when you stand up, gravity pulls the blood down from your brain down to your feet. It only takes a couple seconds for it to return to normal, but you still feel the symptoms of lack of oxygen and such. I believe the name of this is orthostatic hypotension. It can also occur if you've been standing up for a long time in the same place; however, this can easily be avoided by bending your legs. My advice is to stand up slowly, and sit down again if you start to get symptoms. When it usually happens to me it's not severe and I continue walking, and it goes away. However, you don't want to fall down on something hard, so if you're walking and it gets worse, look for somewhere to take a rest. This happens all the time to me, and I start to lose my vision, so I can't see. I've fallen on vacuum cleaners and other things before. It happens several times a day to me, but it's *usually* minor. If it's bad enough and often enough to worry you, you may want to go to a doctor, but otherwise I wouldn't worry too much. ^^

@lola622f That happens to me too! But I don't really feel dizzy, it's just my eyesight goes black....I don't think it's a big deal because most of the people have this too
