I was looking through my topics and wishing there was a simple way to get rid of my old topics without having to send tickets whenever I was done with one. XPYes I know this has been suggested and shot down XD. That is why I have a slightly different idea. XPI was thinking an easier way to let a mod know that you want to get rid of an old topic was to go under your recent topics and have a button on there that when clicked would notify a mod that the topic was closed and ready to be deleted. Then eventually, when the mods had time, they could get rid of it. XPOther Suggestions:Suggested by DionaeaHave all dead threads deleted automatically deleted after a month or two.Suggested by ZayfeyryI think instead of hitting a button to request to delete the topic, I think it should be a button to request to lock itSuggested by cqpkyttyMaybe there could be an option in 'create topic' or 'edit post' if you were the one to create the topic, where you could say 'If this is inactive for 60 days (for example), lock this topic' or something. That way there is no security risk and you don't have to go by all your finished topics to get to your active ones.Well?#lynncrow#suggestions

+1I definitely think this should be done, especially for the trading forums this would clear up so much of the cluttering.
lynncrow • 9 August 2012 at 4:21 AM
@dionaeaXD thats what i was thinking XPI have quite a few i would wish deleted now that i have a couple threads i can reuse XD
dionaea • 9 August 2012 at 4:29 AM
Yeah, I have some I'd rather just get rid of too, nobody's reading them anyway and for the trading forums some threads are just downright redundant, but stay up anyway...
lynncrow • 9 August 2012 at 4:36 AM
@dionaeayep...its annoying how many are the same and how many get reposted ...that's why i have 3 threads that i can always keep and change them whenever i need too XD
karamel • 9 August 2012 at 5:27 AM
@lynncrow I'd prefer to still use tickets - the idea you have is basically a quicker way of sending a ticket - but I wouldn't mind having this suggestion.Rather than deleting topics though, I'd like to just close them >.<"(Otherwise my post count goes down D8 )
dionaea • 9 August 2012 at 7:35 AM
@karamel I'm not sure your post count would go down, but wouldn't it be possible for Ian to let the post count be calculated differently to keep it from subtracting deleted posts?@lynncrowPerhaps you could add a delete/close all topics which have been inactive for over 30 days (or 60 for suggestions)? Someone just revived a feeding thread which had been dead for months and of which the creator most likely quit... I've seen this before and it annoys me to no end =.=
lynncrow • 9 August 2012 at 3:50 PM
@dionaeai added that to the top post ^^thats annoying -_-
tylercrow • 12 August 2012 at 3:38 PM
This kinda died. XPAnyone else want to give any input XP.
vanilla • 12 August 2012 at 3:42 PM
@lynncrow @tylercrow - Absolutely love this idea! xD
lynncrow • 12 August 2012 at 3:43 PM
@vanillathx XP lol i made my brother update everything and revive my dead topics XP
nroosangel • 12 August 2012 at 5:04 PM
@lynncrowI think this is an excellent idea!! I also think there should be a way to delete ur topics. It would be much easier to have a button than to send in a ticket๐
lynncrow • 12 August 2012 at 5:52 PM
@nroosangelthx for the support ^^ if i get a couple more people who like this we can ping the mods about it XP
nroosangel • 12 August 2012 at 6:12 PM
@lynncrowXD yep๐ I'd be glad to, as long as they dont get annoyed 0.0
lynncrow • 12 August 2012 at 6:13 PM
@nroosangelmods dont tend to get annoyed at being pinged XPi know at least two of them like being pinged XP
nroosangel • 12 August 2012 at 6:15 PM
@lynncrowOkay๐ just saying because I dont really like getting pinged when people r just trying to get u to view their forum... ya know??
lynncrow • 12 August 2012 at 6:18 PM
@nroosangelyeah XP some i dont mind but if they get you more than once on the same thread ...no -_-byfelisa has said before that she doesnt mind being pinged XP
whitefire • 12 August 2012 at 6:20 PM
@Lynncrow I don't like the idea of dead topics being deleted after a certain amount of time, because people may just keep on starting them right back up, which would clutter the forums even more. However, I like the idea of a simpler way to delete your topics! I have a few suggestions that have been shot down and would like to have deleted.
nroosangel • 12 August 2012 at 6:21 PM
@lynncrowIKR!! Its just like I'll post if i want to, or something. haha no XXD and okay thats good... but what about the others?? will we ping just byfelisa??
lynncrow • 12 August 2012 at 6:25 PM
@whitefirei added that part just because someone else said it earlier on here and i felt their opinion should go up there too XP@nroosangelXD hmm *shrugs* ping whoever you like XP i doubt anyone would be cross about it cause it IS a suggestion XP
nroosangel • 12 August 2012 at 6:27 PM
@lynncrowI read something Ian posted that said pinging them wouldnt get their attention...
whitefire • 12 August 2012 at 6:28 PM
@Lynncrow Oh. You should put that it was their opinion. ๐
lynncrow • 12 August 2012 at 6:29 PM
@nroosangelmaybe not ian's attention but the other mods notice XP...at least they do sometimes XP@whitefirefine XP *changes first post* XD
whitefire • 12 August 2012 at 6:30 PM
@Lynncrow lol You didn't HAVE to, it was just a suggestion! D:
linpug • 12 August 2012 at 6:31 PM
@lynncrowWhats with all the dead smilies sticking out their tongue? XDD XP
zafeyry • 12 August 2012 at 6:31 PM
@lynncrowI think instead of hitting a button to request to delete the topic, I think it should be a button to request to lock it ๐ I don't really like the idea of deleting topics ๐
nroosangel • 12 August 2012 at 6:31 PM
@lynncrowIdk... Meh XP well ping em anyway
lynncrow • 12 August 2012 at 6:31 PM
@whitefirehmph NOW you tell me XP lol...i didnt mind fixing it XP
cqpkytty • 12 August 2012 at 6:38 PM
@lynncrowI don't think topics should be deleted automatically, but maybe locked automatically after a month or two instead?
whitefire • 12 August 2012 at 7:00 PM
@Lynncrow lol@CqpKytty I don't like that either, because some topics might only be relevant at certain times of year, such as a Christmas gifting topic I'm going to create, which will be an anual thing where you gift other people.
