Hey everyone!I just made the decision to go off of my acne medication. I'm so nervous that it will come back! But, I know that anxiety can cause outbreaks, so it's like a negative feedback loop!I need to try to control my anxiety.Any suggestions? đ

@Solaris I know you want to be less nervous; But I'm having the same issue, I'm in the middle of another breakout, and my acne won't go away. D: I have to use medications for like, 2 weeks, and I can barely do it for 2 DAYS!I have really long nails, and they're getting weaker, so they're starting to fall off. When they get weak, I get nervous that they fall off, so I bite my nails (I don't bite them off, but I just kinda bend them with my teeth), and that MAKES them fall off. D: I lost both nails on my middle fingers already, and I'm starting to lose my thumbnail on my right hand. But anyways...Maybe listen to some music or something to get your mind off of it. I panic a lot, and I slip my earphones in and put on some music, and it makes me feel better. đIf that doesn't work, I come online here at EggCave and I search through the forums, looking for some topics to post in or some conversations to start.Laughter is good medicine, too. Look at something funny, or try to make yourself laugh.Oh, and if you're worried about your acne coming back, try to avoid eating oily foods. ;] And don't do anything that will make you sweat too much. Keep your face clean and oil-free, and you should be fine.

@dreamerAcne sure can be a real pain. I started having it when I was 10. But when I was around 16 it changed from regular acne to cystic acne. They were about the size of golf balls! It was so painful I couldn't even eat or talk. I'm 22 now, and my face has improved a lot. I've only had one dime sized cyst in the last six months! I've been taking my pills everyday for three years.I have that nail problem too. Except I pick at them when I feel stressed. The nail on my pointer finger is probably only have a centimeter long! I'm trying to grow them back out though. My friend is getting married in one month, and I don't want my hands to look deranged. Thanks for the suggestions! đ

@solarisHm, I suggest to eat healthier. I don't know your diet and what you eat but acne is from hormones, dairy, from oil on your face, etc. So eat healthier! đ I really don't have any acne and I'm 15 and it's because I eat healthy. Sure, I adore candy and eat junk food a lot but during the week I eat healthy and clean my face and exercise. Weekends is when I eat a lot of candy and icecream haha. And for stress, like Dreamer said; try listening to music. It really calms me down. And try just taking a nap in the day and pampering yourself. đ Like try a facial scrub, etc. It's relaxing AND helps your face be clean and healthy looking. đ Hope this helped a little bit.

@solarisI'm going to agree with @lonewolf.I noticed that the more junk I eat, the worse my breakout is going to be, particularly around that particular time of month when I get a few more blemishes than I usually would. Potato chips and greasy french fries are the biggest culprit. Chocolate can be too, if you're not careful to eat it in moderation. But with a more natural diet, I really have noticed a change in my complexion.đ

@lonewolf @metaphorYou guys are right. I'm definitely not as healthy as I could be. âšī¸ I really do want to change that. I can't live through cystic acne again.I did notice a change in my complexion when I lived for a few months in Russia. I basically lived off of boiled potatoes and spaghetti. I even lost thirty pounds! But, I gained most of that back when I returned to Canada and there was food in my cupboards again. đ
