Carter coughed, jolting herself awake in the small helicopter. A bit dazed, she put her hand to her forehead as she sat up. Blinking her eyes, she peered into the window, seeing only darkness. As her eyes adjusted, she found that the helicopter was on a flat landing base in the middle of a very thick forest. "Ah, great." she said as she threw her hands up in the air and fell back into her seat.

"Well, no help to be grumpy." Blowing her dirty, once-blonde hair out of her eyes, she sat up and tried to start the helicopter. A pitiful creak and cough burst out of the engine and then the helicopter ceased to live. A backup emergency light lit up above Carter, blinding her instantly as she cried out. Slapping a gloved hand onto the light, she clasped her eyes with the other. Muttering "Real helpful," she broke the light with her fist, but not before locating her gun and her small amount of ammo through squinted eyes.

Cyra cocked her head in confusion and looked around again. 'There seems to be no movement from what I recall..I think..' but glanced at the helicopter and jumping in shock from the sudden noises and jolts. ( I do hope it's the same helicopter i'm very slow tonight c; ) her mind was full of curiousness but also with fear. Her big blue eye's glistened as she looked at Kay then back at the machine. Biting her lip she stood back and swallowed the lump in her throat.

As the light broke, she had her ammo in her backup spot and her gun was in her smallish hands. Flipping on her night vision goggles, she slowly exited the helicopter, her gun trained on anything that moved or looked suspicious. As soon as her two feet were planted on the ground, she quickly made her way around to the back of the helicopter while in a crouched position, wary of anything and everything.

Cyra lifted her head and looked off towards the helicopter when she heard a slight noise. Slowly moving forwards, she gulped hoping it wasn't a zombie hiding in the bush. Just in case there was, she readied herself to dash off into the distance. Her big shiny blue eyes seemed alert to her surroundings and every little noise made her jump or shudder. She continued to move to the spot behind the helicopter, her breathing was the only thing to break the uncomfortable silence and soon she stopped glancing back at Kay for certainty.

Tessa's mouth was dry, and dark was falling. She was so encrusted in mud and blood that she felt she was part of the ground. Opposite to her appearance, her dark eyes were trained on the top of the hill facing the cave, and her ears were sensitive to any sound.

Coming back to her senses, Katia sighed. They still weren't back. She turned to Tessa and finally realised how grubby they all were. 'Whoah.' She muttered. 'We need a bath.'

Steve wiped his sweaty and bloody face to no avail. Sighing deflatedly, he sat down again. Staring at Katia's feet, his mind wandered as time passed.

Carter sucked in her breath as she saw something glint in the forest. (Cyra's eyes x3) Unable to find it again, she kept her gun wary until she could find a safe spot to re-asset her situation.

Tessa laughed, peeling her eyes away from the horizon to look down at herself and Katia. It was true, she looked like dirt. As soon as the others came back, she couldn't wait for some kind of bath.

Steve snapped back to life as Tessa laughed. It was a beautiful interruption to the eerie silence that was protruding them before. "What's so funny?" he asked curiously.

The object made noises again, and before Carter turned off the safety of her gun, she realized that the object made human-like nosies.
Not zombie.
Oh, thank the skies. Wiping her sweaty forehead, she took a chance as she stepped into the moonlight and yelled to the object's general direction. "Whoever- or.. whatever- you are, come out! Show that you are not a zombie." Her voice had a slight accent, but it was hard to detect what country she came from.

Keeping a wary look-out for anything out of the ordinary, Kay was still crouching behind the bush, head partially poked from the top. Seemed like despite the strange noises, there seemed to be nothing in sight.
Mirroring Cyra's movements, she stood up and sighed in exapseration, gathering her rifle from the ground.
"Nothing there." she confirmed the girl's thoughts, readying herself to set off deeper into the forest again.
Still, as she passed half-crouched out of the bush, her periferal vision caught a moving figure to the left. Without further ado, she hauled the rifle off her back, gripping it tightly and firing, having forgotten to put down the fuse. The rifle tugged her backwards, as the bullet flew difficultly through the barrel's closed exit and whistled inches from Carter's hip.

Cyra froze suddeny and gulped nervously. Turning towards the source of the noise, she began to trudge closer and closer. She stepped on a twig causing it snap making her jump. Cold sweat fell down her face but she quickly wiped it off 'W-Who is it.. ' she asked in a scared and timed voice.

Tessa was soon overcome by bursting fits of laughter. Tears rolled down her cheeks, leaving tear trails from the result of caked mud on her face. Too wrapped in laughter to reply.

What had gotten into them? They were laughing like maniacs, but Katia didn't want to stop. She started hopping on rocks. 'Rocks are safe, ground is lava!' She exclaimed. A game she had played with furniture as a child.

Indulging in the innocent game, Tessa hopped on the rocks behind Katia, smiling so hard her face hurt. All the stress put on them seemed to melt away with every rock step. Heck, they haven't had time to be kids since it all started.

Carter let her gun hang to the side of her body, the safety back on. Unsure of what was out there, she called out again. "Hello? Anybody out there to murder me?"

Carter saw the movement in the bush, but it was so dark and sketchy she was unsure. A few split seconds later, a bullet whistled by her hip. In a flash, she was behind the helicopter, her gun pointed at where the bullet appeared to have come from.

Swearing under her breath, she figured that the person must've been surprised because they clearly had an advantage as they could've killed her. Licking her lips, a bead of sweat rolled down from her forehead. Carter was completely sure of one thing: whoever was holding the gun was definitely not a zombie. "Hello? Anybody out there to murder me?"

Kay is Aizel's mother xD Aizel Kay Tylk would have inherited her mom's hair, skin tone and physique (and also her first name as her second name, which happens in some countries - the girls inherit their mother's name as a second name and the boys inherit their father's name as their second name.) and her other features from her father. 😸 *proud of self*

Reloading her rifle (and this time flicking off the otherwise destroyed fuse), Kay gripped it tightly and proceeded forward.
"Aye!" she bellowed, eyes darting from side to side in search for the invisible target. "Depends on who you are!"

Cyra stood back and trembled a bit. Her expression said it all, she seemed timid and jumpy because of the stranger. She looked ready to take off at any moment in case of disaster.

In a situation like this, a normal person's principal aim would be to question the other side of the conversation if they were bitten and assure their own safety. In Kay's case, that was bluntly skipped.
"Soldier or surviver?" she yelled over the bushes, dumping all wariness out the window. Zombies were sure to come now, but the thick-headed raven was too engulfed in the 'conversation' to realize that.
The fear Cyra emmited could be literally tasted in the air and out of the corner of her eyes, Kay noticed her trembling.
"It's a'ight Cy." she cooed quietly, reaching to grasp her forearm. "We've got a gun and kickbutt powers. They don't." she mentioned with a mischevous smirk, highering her rifle for emphasis.

Trecking silently through the equally quiet forest, the soldiers had mantained formation and war footing, despite the lack of a threat. Their route had been cut short by a dozen trees blocking their path and along the way to circle around the isolated area, they'd strayed from their original road.
Currently wandering among the thickly grown trees in the center of the forest along with his subordinates, Kazimir stuck to the back of the group with Brendon. The boy had a hard time keeping up, it seemed, and since nobody had volunteered watching the group's back, Kazimir had stayed behind instead.
A painfully familiar feeling of dread settled in his stomach, gnawing at it. As a good soldier, he dismissed his worrying intuition and marched ahead boldly.
His eyes were locked on the numerous uniform-clad backs in front. As if on queue, the soldiers ahead of him suddenly halted, causing the diligently stomping man to come to a sharp halt. Brendon was right behind him so he moved out of the way to prevent any crashes.
The main reason for the group's halt was right below them all. A clear set of small footsteps dotted the mud underneath their feet. It was none of them that had made it, hence the small size of the prints. He could already guess teenagers or children. There were parts where the ground had been well-trodden and seemed to be previously laid upon. Trailing the pair of footsteps ahead, he was already eager to follow them. It seemed as the people had foolishly entered too deep in the forest.

Carter blinked, unsure as to which she actually was. After a long pause, she replied, "Both, I guess."
Quickly checking over her shoulder, Carter saw a large bunch of figures coming out of the bushes.
Her first sighting of... ZOMBIES.
A high-pitched yelp escaped her throat as she quickly blasted a few rounds in their general direction and scrambled away.

Gradually lowering her gun, Aizel furrowed her eyebrows, lightly confused by the answer. It gave her a reason for some more suspicion, but before she'd managed to retort the answer brutely, a dozen gunshots were heard in the stranger's direction.
Instinctively she ducked, assuming the bullets were aimed at her but nothing flew their way except the increasing sound of moans.
Before either of them had realized what was going on, the downpour of zombie had reached them.
"Cyra, behind me." she ordered curtly, already aiming at a zombie.

Cyra held her breath suddenly beginning to shudder terribly. She swallowed the lump in her throat and stared at the zombie and she bit her lip. She seemed ready to bolt off at any moment. She glanced at Carter carefully before looking away.

Carter scrambled towards the opposite side of the bush, near the stranger who'd nearly shot her leg. She clumsily positioned herself and started firing at the zombies.
Surprisingly for a while, it worked. None of the zombies had touched her yet, and she was still alive.
An angelic sound rang through her ears... but stopped when her gun stopped abruptly.
"Shoot!" She expertly reloaded quickly, but the zombies were getting far too close for comfort. One actually lunged for her but she managed to block it off, shooting its head off behind her. And she was back at it again, whispering under her breath.

Shooting zombies on her own turn, Aizel turned to glance at the rustling bush, inclined to aim at it and pull the trigger before a young face poked from behind it. Tilting her rifle away from Carter's direction, she continued blasting the tightening circle of undead.
With limited options, tight spaces and no inclination to fight anymore (hence her running low on bullets), fast thinking was obligatory.
Her eyes darted around for an opening and once she spotted one, she directed her bullets there, struggling to keep it clear.
"Cyra." she called out to the girl behind her in-between wheezing bullets. "Take her and return to camp. Come back for me if you can. Can you do that for me?" she asked cautiously, checking if the girl hadn't panicked enough or wasn't too nervous.

Cyra looked over at Kay nervously before walking towards Carter 'Uhm...excuse me but I can bring you to safety...I guess I have no choice or all of use can get hurt..' She said in a low tone gently taking Carters arm 'Ill be back Kay hold on okay..' She said smiling at Carter warmly before speeding off into the distance in a blur and in no time at all both of them finally landed at the camp and Cyra let go of Carter the moment they arrived.

In mid hop, a blur flashed in the corner of Katia's eye. Due to the extreme paranoia manafesting itself in the back of her mind, her first thought was, of course, zombies.
She yelped at the thought, slipped on the next rock and landed with a thud.
Sitting on the ground, about to get up and fight, she realised that the figures were not actually zombies. It was Cyra! There was also some other girl, another survivor? Where was Kay though?
'H-Hello Cyra..' She squeaked, staring up at the two. 'Is Kay okay? And who is this?'

Carter nodded absentmindedly to the other stranger, and was very quickly brought to was seemed like a hideout. There was three people in it, and one of them, a young girl, referred to Carter's rescuer as Cyra. Carter smiled weakly at all of them, her adrenaline crashing.

Steve stumbled back in surprise, then offered a hand to Katia as soon as he recognized Cyra. Keeping a wary eye on the new solider girl, Steve helped Katia onto her feet.

' I hope Kay is, I'm going back for her...you'll be safe here Carter okay..' Cyra sighed pushing her messy curls out of her face. She glanced quickly at Katia and Steve with a sort or crooked smile. Twisting around in the spot, Cyra took in a good amount of air before speeding off back in the direction where Kay resided. She had a small bit of trouble trying to find the area her breathing fastened but she soon began spotting familiar things. 'Kay..' She breathed as she slowly became more lost causing her paranoia to rise slowing her down also. She wandered around quickly but her panting grew more frequent and scared. Finally she saw Kay sending a feeling of relief over her rushing to her side.
