Chapter 1.Scattered into the moonlight.Sky woke up to moonlight streaming through her window and the sounds of huge machines outside. She pulled away the curtains to see her friends farm being torn up and the family on horses with bags slung over their shoulders. She had been left alone to care for herself since her mom and dad had died. She heard a knock on the door and rushed downstairs to open it. There was man standing in the doorway. He looked about 30-35 and his eyes showed no kindness. Looking her in the eye he said to her. "Go pack some belongings from your room and come right back here." Sky rushed upstairs and packed a change of clothes into her backpack and went back downstairs. The man roughly grabbed her by the arm and dragged her outside and told her,"go grab your horse and get out of here" He said to her. Sky rished to the stable and grabbed her only horse Midnight. Midnight was a pure black arabian. She saddled up Midnight and rode off,in the middle of the night,into the wild prairies of west Montanna.

@izzfred , good, but why did she listen to this guy? why didn't she put up a fight to stay? Is he an old family member or family friend? Explain that or your readers will be confused. Try to describe the mans appearance. Was he tall or short? What was his expression? What about hiseyes? Were they cold and unforgiving or warm and kind? These answers build a story.

@daffyduck3500 the man was tall and from her point of view 30-35 years old and shes only ten so thats why she listened. She also saw what had happened to her friends farm and this guy was wearing typical construction saftey wear.
