I guess this is kind of a nostalgia thread. Post that book, movie, video, song, etc. that you remember as a kid but discovered again several years later. Maybe even include a memory about it.

I remember in Kindergarten, the teacher had this tape of a live Tom Chapin concert for kids and I was actually in love with it. I have no idea why, but whenever we'd have a movie day before nap time, I'd always be voting for this video even when no one else was. Eventually, I made my mom get it from the library. That particular song is the one that still sticks out to me.

I used to be in love with the Barbie movies when I was younger, especially Barbie in the Nutcracker. I loved it so much, that when I saw it again in a video rental store, I got my mum to borrow it, even though I'm way too old for Barbie movies xD

Ooh, I actually remember that myself. My sister and I used to love all those Barbie movies actually.

And I am the same way when it comes to things like Arthur, Rugrats, etc. xD

I was never really into Arthur - for some reason I just didn't like any of the characters xP

But I did used to love Sesame Street, especially the Somebody come and play song (although for some reason it always makes me so sad):

I remember when I was in my physical therapy session, my instructor would always have me sing it when I went across the balance beam. And my grandmother liked to sing it with me, too.

It does have a sad, nostalgic feel to it.

My mind is a treasure trove of distant memories.

One that stands out is the song Mickey by Toni Basil. Remember buying the 7" when it came out and how I hurried home to play it lol Have not listened to the song in a long time. Yesterday watched it on Youtube. I took a ride on the Memory Machine *nods*

Miss the days when MTV was exactly just that..Music television.

I loooved Hey Arnold. My favorite Nick Show by far was probably As Told By Ginger. These were the shows that were usually on when we first got cable (when I in 4th grade or so). Happy I got enjoy them before Nick became...not so much my thing.

That's awesome. There are a lot of songs that give me that "good memory" feeling. I think the most notable are "Pink Houses" by John Cougar Mellencamp and "Free Falling" by Tom Petty and "Sultans of Swing" by Dire Straits. They all just give off wonderful feelings of being in the car with Mom or Dad after school. haha


And my mom gets all happy when she realizes I like about 90% of her music. xD

Yes, it's rather touching when our kids love some of the same things.

My Son loves Transformers and that just made his Dad happy. Since he loved them when he was a kid. My son is 15 and still plays with them 😊

My Daughter is really getting into Lady and the Tramp. Which was a favorite of mine as a child. I had no idea till yesterday while we were looking at Disney Plushies. She has the same love for plushies as I do. I live through her lol

I just love this soo much! Just want to squish him soo lol

Ay! I just rediscovered The Last Unicorn film! Now that I watch it I understand everything that is going on and I'm like, "Wow, it's really dark for a kid's movie." But it just shows how old it is. XD Also, the opening theme is so beautiful I could cry. Brings back memories~ ❤️

Rockadoodle, an old Don Bluth film. A friend brought it to school once and we watched it... took till i turned 20 till i got it to watch, and now my daughter loves it 😊
