Roots are a basically what keeps the plant alive. It anchors it to the ground so it can't come out easily. The root take in water and nutrients from the soil and give it to the plant to keep it alive. Did this help? It might not help as much because i'm only in grade four.

I had a professor just like that in university. The unwritten rule in university is that everyone can come and go as they please without asking. However, near the end of class one day, some guy got up and started to leave. She was like, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" He said, "I have a dentist appointment so I have to leave early". And she was like, "NO! SIT DOWN!" Everyone was shocked. He ended up leaving anyway. 😋

Hmm, what kinds of plants? I remember last year I had to do a project about the element Boron. It took forever to do and I barely finished it in time with my partner.
