Moon padded under the shadows of the trees silently, her silver tail flicking slowly behind her. She scanned her surroundings with her dark amber eyes and narrowed them when she heard rustling in the bushes nearby.

Midnightstar sniffed the air, 'Rabbit...Not common near the mountain forests...' she thought. She followed the trail toward the mountains and found a plump hare snoozing. Creeping up on it she scented another cat. She killed the rabbit then hid in a bush nearby, slightly panicking due to her broken hind leg. The rabbit was a lucky catch. Her first catch in days. She was in no state to fight. But she was sure it would heal. 'It just takes some time. Besides, this rabbit can last me a whole moon. I could stay here for now, and then my leg can heal. My Clan won't even need me. The mountain lion wiped them all out. I'm lucky to be alive. But then again...Most of them deserved to die! They watch me suffer like this, not a care in the world. The Clan gave me this broken pile of leg!They pushed me into the river when they knew the lion was there and he came after me!' She thought, smiling at the thought of her claws in the throat of the warriors. She avoided her loved ones, the kits, the apprentices and elders. They done nothing to her. They weren't involved in the patrol. She then snapped back to the present, and found narrowed amber eyes staring in her direction.

Moon pulled back slightly, warily observing the crouching black she-cat not to far from her. Twitching her whiskers, Moon padded forward enough for her face to be revealed. 'Strange. I would've sworn I was alone.' she thought. Moon flexed her shoulders and laid down on the ground. She was prepared to show the other cat that she wasn't leaving any time soon.
