Yes, yes. Pretty boring and I missed most of my time on Egg Cave. The whole time of the ceremony, I was jotting down what happened on the buisness card, writing down what I was going to tell my dear friends on Egg Cave (yes, I care THAT much about you). Here it goes (and I'm not writing this for practice in English, I already am the best author).
Most of Chicago is culture. The Chinese are a bit racist, yeah. We hate people who disrespect what we believe in, but, hey! When most people speak of something, they say "they" and not we. We (all) speak of our ancestors as "they". It's quite disrespectful (but who cares). Me and my Mom were in Chinatown. I had lost both male grandparents. She, her father.
There was a small park that I remember passing. There was two dogs- one chained and another chasing balls. The chained one was whinning. It was one of those breeds of dogs that made me run for it- um... I forgot the name.

I thought it looked really funny. My mom didn't care that much so we went on.
At what seemed like forever, we finaly got to the place my mom was looking for. I peered inside. Beauty products? I just stared until my mom pulled my away. Turned out it was the shop (?) next to the hair salon.

BUDDIST TEMPLE
& gift shop

O_O

I walked inside. It had the smell of... you know... those scent candles. I had a bow full of those back at home. They were leftovers from when we mourned my grandfather on my dad's side. It was a very skinny stick that, when burned, gave a very... annoying scent (in my opinion). It had the smell of Jasmine (or some smelly flower).
"She-fu," my mom called out softly. For your information, it's really sher-fu, with an R. Even since Kung-fu panda came out, everyone thinks it's the way you say it in the movie. She-fu means master... so Panda's master's name is Master Master ('cause they call him Master She-fu).
"Do we need to take off ours shoes," she continued.
"Dua," came the answer (it's like... dwa and the A says it's name. It means yes).
I'm just going to say the translation from now on. 'Kay?
"Oh, sorry!"
I took off my boots and grabbed a pair of slippers my size. I hated them.

@keenfoot Dug! (Really, I said it... well, it was a bit like D-ug! Maybe I was trying to say,"the heck!" and said Ug! at the same time. Who knows? I'm a girl of weirdness... AND I'M PROUD OF IT)
So, anyway, I to hate those slippers the moment I put them on. They were the cheap kind, pink, plastic and had high heels.
I had a hard time walking on them. They were too small for me and I kept on slipping but they were the only kids' sized shoes. Not many children go to temples, eh?
The room had red taspetries that said good luck, etc, etc. They were all red. For non-Chinese here, I was the only kid who, for my 2nd grade project on Chinese New Year, was able to tell everyone that red meant good luck in the new year. The whole class did the project, there was other Asian people in my class and I was the ONLY ONE.
Anyway, moving on (innocent face). They reminded me of the ones in my house that my grandmother had so delicatly made for her husband's death day. FYI, the Chinese mourn on the Birthday, Death Day and New Year.

So, I sat on a bench. There were three gods in that room (statues of course XD), not including the donations god. On his table, there was only oranges (you give the gods fruit).
Orange orange, yellow orange, orange orange, yellow orange, orange orange, green watermelon.
I forgot the names of the other gods. I was half asleep when my mom was giving me the lecture. All I can remember was
... the most powerful... his... two gods sit by his sid... not as powerful and they are smaller... see the one on the oppisite wall... she has many arms... a million... no, many million (Chinese doesn't translate good into English, sorry)... help people in need... many arms... can help a lot of people at once... dead family members... death brings bad luck... watch out what you do... look out for cars... get good grades.
It was going nowhere but I had this vision of getting a virius when she sad the part about being careful 'cause of him dieing.

Oh, yeah! XD XD XD XD XD XD XD XD XD XD XD XD XD XD XD
I forgot the most important parts! How could I do this!

In front of each statue, there was a cushion in the shape of an inclined plane. I thought it was the thing you kneel on at first but then my mom told me to follow her. She steeped in front of the biggest god (not in fat or anything but the biggest is the one with most power) and then I realized what it was. It wasn't triditional but it was better than the real thing. In Chinese tradition, you stand in front of the picture of the person who died (etc, etc), bow, get down on your knees and hit your head against the floor in sorrow three times. My grandma did it and it took us a while to get her back on her feet...
Anyway, so I just stared at the big statue, hoping that my mom thought I was praying or something like that and then she went to the donations and put in... was that $15?
After I finished, she was still mourning so I just waited on the bench. A boy, the age of 16 (or something), came in and looked bewildred. I didn't pay any attention (well, inside, I was, like, GET OUT! THIS IS ONLY FOR CHINESE! XD).

Hey, don't sweat. We live oceans apart, me and my relitives. I do realize that me and my cousins are the first of our blood to be born in America. We're probably going to be blood-traitors and ruin the family blood. We've all married people from the same provience (Tianjin).

Today, we had this project and we had to make our own game based on this design that archeologists found (on a board). When I was putting on my favorite red striped socks this morning, my mom came in and told me not to wear red. Read the paragraph (some... where). FYI, red is my favorite color and I really was bummed out. All this bad luck stuff. Red is happiness and good luck and when a family member dies, it's not good... luck. He died of a heartattack if any of you were wondering. Anyway, at school, we were playing each others' games and I was playing with my friend. She asked me to chose a color of my token and I choosed red (force of habit) and then remembered what she told me. I changed it at the last second and chose yellow (you know, the Lovegoods but that was a wedding).

Well, we learn about ancient civilizations and all that. We don't use the testbook thing. Our teacher types up everything on Microsoft Word and then we have to copy every thing down (so far, we're at 185/635). We do projects, etc, etc. This project, he explained about acheologists (I REALLY WANT TO BE AN ARCH WHEN I GROW UP!!!) and how they evaquated the ruins (we did a paper on where we evaquated Chicago, yes, weirder than you think it is) of Sumer. They found a game. The board had patterns on it. The pieces and rules were lost and we made out own game. We had a week to do it and there was a lot of e-mails going around (yes, CPS gave the kids e-mails. 😸 Some of the advantages of gifted school) and there was a website that mskayla333 gave out that explained the real rules and how the scientists figured it out but then-

@ems Why am I not getting the notification?!
there was a big fight (argument) about being creative and how the teacher probably knows the real rules and would catch us. He's really strict (but funny at some times). Anyway, I remember it. I'll try to get a screen-shot (and black-out the names) later.
Oh, what should I write, oh what should I write?

@ems You can't. A mod comes to a topic to check on everything and when someone needs a spacer and another one posts, they delete the spacer after you posted. It makes everything really neater. Most of the time, it's for RPs. I wrote a very long paragraph, once, for the RP plot and I needed more room for the forms (and rules) so I asked for a spacer. After they posted, I was finally able to post the forms and then a hour later, the post (that said SPACER) vanished. I think you can just PM a mod.
