Current guess for new riddle: The place was a hotel so why would there be a carpenter there?

New riddle:

You are on an expedition. You see two doors. One leads to happiness and one leads to death. Then you see two people. They both know which door goes to which. But, one person always lies and one person always tells the truth. You only can ask one question. Which question do you ask?

If I asked the other person with door would lead to happiness, what would they say?
Take the door opposite of what they say.
Explanation:
If you are talking to the person who tells the truth, they know the other person will lie and say the wrong door. They will say that door, and when you go to the opposing door, it will be the city of happiness.
If you are talking to the lying person, the know the truth person will say the right door, so they will say the wrong door. Opposite of wrong is right, so take the other door.

I assume you cannot tell which is which. First, get a stick. Poke one of them with a stick. Ask if you poked them. If they say you did, then that is the truthful one. If they say you didn't, that is the liar.
