i'm going to get a senegal parrot on saturday, and i need help fast.i just read that senegal parrots can hurt budgie's easily, do you think its an good idea to let them be together?😱 and can the senegal be in the cage until i come home from school? (but i'm going to buy a LOT of toys for it so it won't be bored)i'm worried because the budgies the others a lot and the senegal might even kill them.8O@iulianna1@cafe

@neko-chan Well, I would recommend not leaving the two in a cage together. You can try watching the two together and see if the Senegal acts aggressively. If everything's okay, then it might be okay to let them play together but I still wouldn't keep them in the same cage because senegals have a bad record with smaller birds ;(

@neko-chanI wouldn't leave the birds alone; Not because they're known to hurt each other, but also they don't know each other. I'd introduce them slowly [buy a separate cage for it, and put them together] and then, after a while [if they've shown no faults] let them out to play together. However, I would highly advise you not to put them together unsupervised.Senegals have a reputation to be bullies. And anything the budgie does that might "annoy" it could send it into a, well, territorial episode. Birds love their own territory. With most birds, it's not about boredom. It's about "Mine". The more toys you put in the cage, the more "mine" the bird becomes. They're literally like children stuck in their terrible twos.

@iulianna1 @cafethey aren't going to be in the same cage, but i'm worried that the budgies might sneak in to the senegal's cage. (since they're so small)my mom says that the birds should be in the same room but in different cages, but would it be better if the senegal was in another room alone? then it could fly around in the room too and not just sit in it's cage.i want to keep the senegal in a room alone for 2-3 weeks and take it to the others when i'm home, but my mom keeps saying that it will just start plucking it's feathers even more.-.-

HmmWell, ANY new bird, you want to quarentine. That way in case they have something, it won't be given to your other birdies. Well, it's fine to let the bird fly around the same room, as well as keep them in the same room, just won't let them out at the same time.My cockatiels are in the same room as an aggressive cockatoo.

@cafe okay, but the cockatoo doesn't hurt them?😱i think they are going to be okay, since the person we are going to buy it from said that he is very curious and friendly.😊thanks for the help!😸

@neko-chan I think you could keep them in the same room (separate cages) but just make sure you don't leave them together unattended 😸 Also, feather plucking won't occur in all birds, just if they are extremely bored. does your bird already pluck its feathers? ;o

@cafe lol okay.xD@iulianna1 nope.😊 my bird have never plucked their feathers, but iki did pluck some of his when he was in the pet store.😱but i don't think they are going to be in the same room.😊 (but they might be if the senegal is nice to the budgies) okay.8)
