Bane layed down, her eyes closing as she slept. Storm patted her back softly, quietly thanking Bane for carrying her. "I see you're a shifter." She nodded to Sam, smiling.

"First let hte flame in a small patch of stones so it dose'nt set the alcove on fire." I say "Sam you need to get Bane to the back of here i case she's needed." I say my voice rising in panic. "Then w. Then we." I stop "I don't know." I breathe defeated.

"She also won't be needed, she's worked hard enough already." Storm toyed with the small flame. Bane sighed in her sleep.

"I said," Storm growled, "Leave Bane alone." Bane stood, a bit irratated with having been awakened, and padded back over to Storm. "Bane has done enough already, okay? She carried us a long way, very fast. She won't be needed, because she needs rest." Storm's eyes glinted with the slightst anger. Bane layed her head in her master's lap.

"I'll keep watch. In case Charleston comes." She said.

"No, I'm fine." Storm muttered, not in the least bit tired. "I need to make sure that Bane's okay." She finished, worried for her little pup. She stroked Bane's head lovingly, and Bane's tail wagged ever so slightly.

Storm chuckled, "I know that. I never underestimate anyone. In fact, I overestimate, so I always prepare for something more than I should. Which, has kept me alive for a long, long time." Storm smiled. Bane whined a bit, kicking her legs softly. "Must be a running dream..." She murmured.

"Hmm." I mutter focusing on Bane's aura. I slow my breathing to match hers and I soon slip into sleep. I wake to find myself in a brightly lit meadow o some type.

Bane loped around in her dream, chasing cute bunnies and trampling the pretty yellow flowers that covered the field. Her togue lolled out of her mouth as her eyes sparkled in the summer sun. The trees were perfectly green, the sky the lightest, softest blue, and a few puffy clouds rolled lazily through the sky.

Storm noticed Sam looking at her. "I'm not really tired." She muttered. She tossed the flame into the air, and it landed just above her head, where it bobbed around. She continued to pet the sleeping wolf.

"Well," Storm started, "When I was younger, I wasn't the happiest kid in the world. So I ran away." Storm smiled at the memory. "I went into the forest a few miles from my house. It was probably the dumbest thing I ever did. Anyways, when I got down there, I realized that I had nowhere to sleep, no food, and no extra clothes... I completly forgot to pack the night before. There were tons of wild animals in the woods, and I was pretty much defensless. But, like the idiot child I was, I stayed, and climbed a tree so the animals wouldn't get me while I slept." Storm shook her head, nearly laughing.

"I was out there for three days when I had decided that I was smart and careful enough to walk about the forest at night. By this point, my parents were probably worried sick, and had the whole town after me. So, on the third night, I was walking around, when I heard a bark behind me, and I thought it was a dog. I turned around though, and saw a huge grizzly bear standing right behind me. So what did I do? I screamed bloddy murder, and ran as fast as I could. Trouble was, the bear was just as fast as I was, and I couldn't stop to climb a tree, or it would get me."

Storm laughed quietly. "Yep. Bane jumped out at the last minute, and gave me enough time to climb a tree. Then, she ran off, hiding until the bear was gone. I never went home, and we've been friends eversince." Storm grinned.

"It wasn't easy, and we were half-starved most of the time." Storm said, as Bane shifted a bit. "It was better than home though." She murmured. Storm almost wished that her life was normal... But then she couldn't have Bane in her life. What would she choose, if she could go back in time? Storm stared at her sleeping wolf for a moment, and decided that she wouldn't trade Bane for anything in the whole wide world.

"Night." Storm murmured, and dimmed her flame ever so slightly. Bane woke, wishing she could speak to Storm, yet their languages were different, and Storm would never understand. But Bane still crawled into Storm's lap, and rested her head in the girl's hands, closing her large, dopey blue eyes.

'Maybe tomarrow, she's asleep.' Bane replied, noticing the calmness of her master's breathing. 'I will watch. Sleep now.' Bane grinned in return, her white teeth shining in the fading firelight. As Storm fell deeper into her sleep, the fire dimmed, soon going out completley.
