The basics:

*Add @ in front of a user's name to ping. They will receive a notification.
*EC is short for Egg Coins, a currency earned by feeding.
*CC is short for Cavecash, a currency with real money.
*CSP stands for Cash Shop Park, where you can buy Cavecash, and use your Cavecash.
*CRW stands for Creature Release Week, the one week in a year where they give out FREE creatures.
*commons are creatures found it a cave
*TA is the Travel Agency, where you a buy travels, which are backgrounds for your creatures.

For one thing, don't follow the advice given at http://eggcave.com/forums/topic/1869.

Welcome. You should click on the link to the Getting Started page in that beige notification with an odd shaped purple bottle at its left near the top of the page.

Also, in addition to what @jemmie said:

1. Pings don't work in edits.
2. Feed pets by clicking on the feed button that you can see when you click on a pet from a user's profile.
3. The asteroid is kinda like the cave, but creatures gotten from it are extremely hard to get.
4. You can do daily trivia and bet on horse races daily at Leila (that town in the desert on the explore map).
5. The strongroom and donation center are also in Leila.

That's pretty much all there is to do here... for now.

In addition to what @extremeblueness Said...

The current conversion is 1CC=10,000 EC

You can "Gift" CC or give a user CC by going to the CSP and clicking "Gift Cavecash" underneath where you buy it. You cannot trade Cavecash in the Trade Center.

TC is the Trade Center. 😋

Travel shorts are: SoB for Star of Bethlehem, ToS for Tree of Sparkling, (alternately used for Terms of Service) and NoS for Northern Outer Space.
