I'm running a mile and a half tomorrow and I want a good time score somewhere between 8: 30-7: 30. Is there any good tips or advice I can get to prepare myself for the run? Unfortunately google doesn't work right now so you can also post links for me, thank you 😸

You could try to pace your self and control your breathing. Try not to talk or breathe in your mouth. If you want to finish in that time slot. It also depends on your previous Mile times if you finish it with around 9 you will probally make it but if you have around 10 you will not make it in that time slot.

I usually get around 8: 32 but my best is 8: 14 I want to get in around the 7:50s. Sometimes it's hard for me to breath in through my nose cuz it gets clogged. And I also try not to talk when I'm running with my friends. The problem is, I get cramps really early in the beginning of the run.

Yeah same here which is why I don't start off sprinting I usually start jogging and slowly building up to a sprint.

lol X3 yeah I should start off slow but then I get anxious cuz while everyone is ahead of me, I'm still behind so I get really nervous and I unconsciously speed up. I have to run 2 large circles so I'm not sure when to start building up speed. Should I do it when I begin the 2nd lap? Or the middle of the first lap? Or the middle of second lap? Or even near the end? I'm not sure :/

@puppyloverlauren
Near the start of the 2nd lap is best it helps you get more speed and catch up with hte others.

I hate mile runs to start. XD So my advice is to keep a steady pace and build up like what cynder5 said. (: And it also helps to stretch real good before to avoid cramps! You also want to stretch after the run because it helps too. And if you get side aches, raise your arms up to let your lungs breath and don't crouch down (like lean down, clutch your stomach, ect.)

Hope the helped! (:

My mom and dad are runners and that is what they told me, so yeah. ^^ I don't like running, though i want to get better. xP I have short legs and i hate that. ☚ī¸ Good luck! Psst, you got a great time! (: Well, to me. XD Depends how old you are. haha. I get like around the 9 mins mark.

Good luck again! 😸

Whoa! Then you have a great time! (: At my school, around your time is a Highly Proficent (A)! I am 12 too, so yeah. 😸 Yes, it is possible. Haha, happens to me all the time. -___- When i dont stretch much. ^^ I hate it, you end up clutching your side and it makes it worse. ☚ī¸
