Every time I try to write this story, I write about 3,000 characters and then delete the whole thing because I keep changing one of the main characters. There are 3 main characters in my story, and some others who pop up frequently. I have them all planned out except for one, and this entire story seems to revolve around her.If you're not into the Werewolves and Vampires thing, then... You might not be able to help. ._. I've sketched the entire history of the story, and the origin of the characters, except for one.Her name in the story is Autumn. All I know about her is that she has a dry sense of humor and by the end of the story, she will be a werewolf or people will know about it.I can't decide which way I should introduce her nature though; Either she confesses about being a werewolf, or she becomes one midway through the story. Then I can branch off those, which questions like "Is she a tough girl revealing her weaker nature, or is she a kind girl revealing her harsh nature?" or questions like "How would it happen?"I love the aspect of the werewolf and vampire stories, but I don't want mine to be too 'corny'. I'm working on developing the characters, and I'm almost done, except for Autumn... I know her personality, but I don't know how to introduce it.So is there anyone who's interested in helping me decide what the heck happens to her? I'm DYING to start writing this story, but I don't want to if I have to keep deleting all of my own work.

Hi, I am sha-dar, and I am also a budding novelist. I am working on one called Chronicles of a Dhampir Book 1: The Bite.I know how you feel. Trying to figure out the nuances of the characters and their development throughout the story can be a real problem; albeit a frustrating one at that. But, judging by what you said, I would say you need to start by creating her 'character'. Like, what clothes does she wear? Why does she wear these clothes? How does she react in certain situations? How does she react to certain personalities? You said she has dry humor. Does that mean she was hurt at a time in the distant past of her life, so she hides behind it as a shield? Or is she just a practical, no nonsense person?Am I helping at all? Or am I rambling and making it worse?Edit: it might make it more interesting if she were a werewolf from the beginning. She could have a savage, untamable nature that leaks into her daily life, destroying some relationships and making others.@dreamer
