Ok I know that # is like all hash and like twitter stuff, which I have no idea how to use.. but apparently this site uses that for groups and stuff. I would like to create a group, how do I do that?

@aloriality

Just add a # in front of a name. Like, if you wanted to make a hashtag for you, you could just add # in front of aloriality. ^^

Ok, so the difference in like linking, between @ and # would be?

I mean, I have seen some # go to other places, and not to peoples @ pages, or maybe I wasn't really paying attention O_O

You use an "@" to link/ping a user. That's how they get a notification to say that you are talking to them/mentioned them in a post. Notifications do not show up if you put a ping in your post through an edit.

"#" are used for when you want to tag it to a certain subject. For example, maybe you'd want to tag a topic to your own private hashtag so that you'll remember that you're in that certain contest.

No, you can just make it yourself. Like, make up a name and add a # in front of it. Like this:

#aloriality

Then, you can just post that hashtag in a topic and it'll be "tagged" to your hashtag. This way, you can just click on the hashtag or look it up in the "#Hashes/search" to get to the topics that you or another person has tagged it in. You following me? Sorry if it's confusing.

So now, if you click on the hashtag that I've made for you, it'll bring you to a list of posts tagged with #aloriality.
