...but then I woke up. ☹️
I'm being serious too.
I actually wrote a poem in a dream. But I only remember bits and pieces.
I've had the worst writer's block lately. Maybe this is a sign.

And this is my second dream thread. Sorry.☹️

@metaphor

Actually, in your dream, you didn't write a poem.
Your brain just took other works you've written/read and made them seem "new" and as if you wrote them.

In my dreams, a lot of times I've composed an arrangement of a song, and lots of people loved it. But then the next day I could barely figure our the simple melody or key of the arrangement.

I asked my friend who is quite knowledgeable of the brain why I couldn't remember it, and I found out that in dreams like that the brain takes works already known and makes you think that you made them in your dream.

.__.

It sucks, I know.

@whispers

Well, anything would be a step up from my current position of a lack of inspiration. xD

@whispers

I don't know if that's true because things that have happened in my dream have never resulted from something I read or anything like that.

Yeah, and I actually have heard stories of people who have gotten words/phrases/entire paragraphs from dreams, for writing papers. o.o
I wouldn't be surprised if what your friend says is mostly correct, @whispers. And I'm no psychologist, so don't take my word for it.

The brain is very complex and does have the ability even while dreaming to pull out any thing. New song, something that may happen to you, etc. There are many reported cases to substantiate that as well.

President Lincoln dreamt about circumstances in regards to his own death just 10 days prior. He even asked who was dead and the reply was "The President killed by an assassin" in his dream.

Frankenstien was inspired by a dream. Sewing Machine. Several Scientists who found cures or answers to complex ways the human body works. The list goes on and on.

I have even had dreams come true or foretold stuff. A lot more when I was younger.
