How come regular users, such as myself, can't have any capitals in their usernames? The fact that my name is always lowercase irks me to no end, because it's supposed to be a proper noun. I would have it be spelled Whitefire, and that's how I typed it when I registered.
Anyhow, I was just curious.

@whitefire
Because only mods have capitals.

@PurrClan
... That's just restating the question... I want to know WHY only mods can have capitals...

@whitefire
Because, aside from the badge symbol thing, it's what distinguishes mods from other users.

@PurrClan
That doesn't exactly make sense... Because OrderedChaos doesn't have capitals in her name, even though I ping her like that. Neither do a couple of the other mods.

@whitefire I have often wondered about this as well,

I guess the only reason I can come up with is to avoid names using all capitals that may be distracting, or maybe to generally standardize all member user IDs in general- maybe it's irksome for the site creators for capitals to exist in names especially if they could potentially be used at random [`~`] . I have not any concrete evidence of this being the reason though and don't make this my personal assumption.

I remember typing in 'Box' when I began, and then I was informed to be called 'box' instead, it was weird because when I saw my name to the right next to the person Icon I felt like my 'box' link was a link to an 'inbox' rather than my actual name but ah, I guess it is was it is for now at least. (You never know though, maybe it can be changed someday? I don't know how that works though)

Good luck on finding the reason!

@whitefire
The mods have an option to capitalize the first character in their username. They don't have to, and most don't want to.

Hope that helps~

@whitefire
Meteoroid was talking about how the first letter of his username was capitalized a while ago.
